Well, last night mama and papa drove over to a vineyard to hear a young man who has won the Django Reinhardt award for excelence, one of the biggest awards in France for music, and mama says he was SPECTABULAR! His name is Paul Lay and he’s won just about every award you can win for music. Along with him was a bass player (whatever that is) and a Swedish jazz singer who had a range of about three octaves like someone called Yma Sumac years ago.
Mama and papa don’t hear much jazz but this was outside with a soft summer breeze and a couple of empty wine glasses to fill later but they finked out and went home to grill sweet onions and potatoes and look at the lovely half moon coming up over the castle.
Such finks. I thought they were going for tapas and would bring me some patatas bravas! Ah, well, they don’t get out often and I heard they were going tonight instead so maybe my luck is about to change…
HELLO! Is this an empty bowl waiting for kibble or WHAT?
Oh, and mama’s head is finally on straight now. I want her to put in a picture but she almost faints when her phone is set on selfie and she doesn’t know it, haha. EKKKKKKKK is all I hear—WHO IS THAT?
Hey, mama, one guess who is in a SELFIE, okay?
It is just a quarter-sized reddish place that the doc says to massage, massage, massage and maybe in a gazillion years it’ll be hardly visible.
GLAD IT’S OVER! Now I’ll get more snuggles from papa.
Oh Loulou, bit behind on my email, but I had to tell you that my aunt took me to see Yma Sumac years and years ago in Chicago when I visited her in the summer. Had totally forgotten so thank you for mentioning her
Yes, she was amazing, mama said, and you’re welcome! What a range…so many octaves. You were lucky to see her in person.
I don’t know what jazz music is. I wonder if that is what the froggies out in my backyard are singing. They are very vocal at nighttime. Your humans son’d expect you to sing now for your dinner do they?! Tee hee hee.
I’m not sure what song I would sing. Maybe Tea for Two. With scones and cream.
An empty bowl, Loulou? That’s just so wrong.
I know, I know, I suffer.
Glad your mama’s head is coming along nicely. Hope she and papa have a good time tonight.
It was fun, but I wasn’t INVITED!!!!
Oooooohweee – we’re all going to google and listen to those musicians – tomorrow since it’s past midnight and we just got in!! We went to our neighbors for a meal – and Loulou, all my bowl had in it was WATER!! We have got to get our anthros in gear. Uh, mama says they’re just trying to get us into shape. I think we are VERY shapely! Odalisque-esque would be a good description. Harrumph.
They gave you WATER. Ditch ’em.
