Maybe this nice cool leaf cover is better than a bed!
Hey, is this getting boring or WHAT? All I can manage is a looooong snooze on a cool chair or bed or anywhere I can find that will take me, haha.
Mama loves this heat – I think it’s her Texan childhood, but she’s out there planting portulaca, whatever that is, in her jardinieres (flower holders/pots, one in the driveway and one in the street) and with this weather, they bloomed right after planting! Hearty little devils, those.
As for me, I am feeling like a wilted nip bed, which reminds me, HEY, MAMA, get out there an prune those stems or I won’t have any nip in autumn!

A little piece of news – there will be a total eclipse of the sun tomorrow and you can follow it from wherever you are. We won’t see it but it has all sorts of positive ramifications (whatever they are) for the future.
Just thought I should alert you to something fun to watch! If you can.
I just wish I could drink margaritas, too…
HEY, MAMA – how about a little iced niponade? Get with it, okay?
Please?
Good to see Loulou beating the heat!
Nip and tonic…that’s the ticket.
Ooooh, Niponoade – would that be like Niponcello? Mama’s drooling already – and anything edible or drinkabe, hey, count me in!! It’s soooo hot here too – but we turned off the AC last night and just ran the fan and it was fine. So maybe it’s back to normal. Whatever that is these days!!!
An eclipse sounds nice…
I have always lived in Massachusetts so I am not a fan of the heat. Bring on the fall and winter 🙂 XO
Oh, and mama, a Texan, loves the balmy heat and never owned snoeshoes.
Thanks for the link about the Solar Eclipse, LouLou,
Sorry the :weather guessers” were wrong about the cooling off.
Yes, the tramontane got lost!
Portulaca is also known as moss rose. It loves sun and heat! Will also reseed like crazy, which may be good OR bad.
Since you have the catnip, an iced niponade is certainly in order. We’re glad you have shade outside.
OH, mama loves knowledge like that! And if it multiplies, wonderful!
Make mine a double Loulou!
Haha, maybe with a maraschino cherry?
Loulou, you could have a niponade pawty out there in the garden, under the cool leaves, of course. Maybe I could have my mom make some fishy treats for me to bring.
Get her goin’…I’m inviting the neighborhood. So fishy treats for around, oh, 100.
