Well today,I, being a lazy lieabout (whatever that is), mama is putting some of her illustrations in my blog, even if I do NOT eat artichokies. Still, it might make your mouth water, haha.
Dip those arti-leaves in melted butter with lemon and don’t forgetthe heart!
You gotta have ❤️!
Uh, oh, even I am salivating on my iPad!
The butter did it, mama, its your fault.
Butter…yummy…bon apetite, LouLou😺Extra Pawkiss🐾😽💞
Yes but not with the chokes…just on a finger…
Butter makes everything better!
You betcha, butter-lover.
OOOOOH – that looks good enough to eat!! Mamma can’t paint because of her right hand – but maybe next week when the cdoc takes the sutures out! That looks delicious!!!!!
Well, suture self, you old doc!! Haha, couldn’t resist and we are SO sorry about your hand but now it’s going to paint better than ever.
Your Mama is very talented!
Oh, merci, she has been drawing since she was little, and it was her profession for a long time. Now she paints to have fun but mama says she has hit painter’s block……we’ll see.
Oh artichokes! I love them….especially as you say with butter and lemon. I haven’t had them in FOREVER but now that you’ve mentioned them I will definitely look for them. Such a delightful treat……..
Hugs, Pam
Mama’s brother and she used to fight over who got how many leaves…they were scarce in her childhood, but not in ITALY!!!! Fried, steamed, with sauces, with butter, any old way is how mama loves them, especially plain, steamed with rosemary, mint and garlic.
I like artichokes, especially spinach artichoke dip. I want to snorgle that adorable tummy of yours. XO
OOH, a snorgle!!! I’ve never HAD one of those! Maybe one day…
ANYTHING dipped and sauteed in butter will become quite attractive. Zucchini, for instance.
Mama is not sure if her comment took. She doesn’t;t see it.
Well there is one, and thank you!
You know, my mamma has not ever had an artichoke. She’s not sure why she was never exposed to them.
Oh, my mama is an addict. Well, she likes them, let’s just say that, but she lived near Watsomvill in CA and that’s the artichoke cap of he world! They are wonderful sliced and deep fried or sautéed or steamed and you scrape of the bottom of the leaves, which are attached to the hearts. The hearts are tender an oh so delicious. A liqueur is made from them called Cynar. Great for digestion.
Loulou, Loulou, LOULOU!
Artichokes are a favorite food of mine, and one of the few items that I taught The Hubby how to cook.
Nowadays, he roasts artichoke hearts and uses them in many meals, but when he can get fresh artichokes, we pull those leaves off and have a ball!
YES, YES, and if you can get the small, French ones called violettes or the small green ones, you pare them down to the yellow leaves trim the tops and slice them in four. Then shake in flour, salt and pepper and sauté in olive oil until crisp. Add lemon juice and parmesan over the tops. You’ll be in choke heaven! Mama just made a sauce for pasta, too.
The Hubby has read this over my shoulder, so maybe I’ll get some in the future!
The Hubby does all the shopping, cooking, and clean-up.
I make my own tea, and feed the cats 95% of the time, and that’s all I do there.
Am not bragging; The Hubby once was a meat cutter, and his training on germs has made him a real martinet in the kitchen!
You are one lucky lady, madame! Ask him what’s the best cut of meat to make a dish that we LOVE called Peposo..not many know it, it’s Florentine, but I’ll send it to you and mama would love a suggestion. She has used chuck, paleron (French cut) and stew beef but any suggestions help. You will LOVE this dish over pasta or just to eat with soft polento. Will send now….
