Hatha stretch
I was doing some of my yoga the other day and I stuck my leg up in that place I always stick it, with no visible difficulty, but this time, I sort of stuck it up a little too far and something went yckkk right down the back of my little black and white body and I thought, “Uh, oh, Loulou, it kittypracter time for you—soon!” And mama started rubbing and rubbing and massaging and massaging my poor little leg and lower back but nothing seemed to help, so I thought that if any anthros out there have any suggestions as to what to do with a bad back, I hope they’ll send them to me.
Okay, okay, I know that kitties don’t have back problems, but this is just sort of a ruse to get good advice from readers about what they have done to help their back troubles, because papa’s daughter is really suffering from back attack and I thought I’d try to help her by soliciting treatment info that really worked for any of my readers.
Any ideas from meditation to medicines are accepted. Just pop them into the Comments Box.
Mama was reading me a story about Linda Ronstadt the other day in the IHT and poverina, she has lost her beautiful, moving, thrilling voice and she said, “I would drink napalm if it would fix my voice” and I started thinking about papa’s poor, suffering daughter and she said on the phone tonight, “I don’t mind taking drugs, any drugs—drugs are fine but none of them seem to work!”
And that’s why I thought I’d put out the query to anyone out there who has back trouble and finally found something to fix it.
Thanks for listening….
Ah…post-massage-meditation
My ape has a stupid back. Ye olde advice from the days of leeches and cupping, was to rest on the floor with your spine in neutral (lying on your side with knees bent a little) for 300 years and take painkillers that don’t work.
Now the new advice is to get enough decent painkiller into your ape body to allow you to keep moving normally, but carefully so the spasm releases. Walking mostly, no lifting or twisty stuff. This is for backs that go into big muscle spasms, not for anything bone related. I don’t know if it helps for herniated disks.
Heat pads can help, but not too hot.
…and if there’s a cat around who feels generous and has good meaty paws, a gentle milk treading (making biscuits) on the back can really help
We hope your Dad’s daughter’s back is well again soon

Ouch. Back pain is no fun. Hope she finds something that will help.
We weren’t aware LR has lost her voice but we did a web search and found she has Parkinsons. How sad. 🙁
Thank you for your email and yes, mama loved Linda and her amazing voice. I guess it would be like losing a myow and then what on earth would kitties do?
I get several (sometimes) massages a day from my Mommy! She said when she could afford it, she got massages, too, for her achey neck and back. Now she has what’s called a therapy cane. She bought it at the clinic’s store. It has nobs all over it, and she works on tight muscles with the nobs.
I get my massages free. Her pain relief with using this cane thingie was only an initial expense and is now free.
Hope this info helps.
Thank you, kitties, for the cane idea. I’ll run it past my step-sister and see if she can find something like that. Hers is a herniated disc, I think, and I wonder if they still use papaya injections? Hmmmm….
