THAT DOVE IS DOING WHAT?
Well, I think it’s a she but who knows. It’s definitely a merle who LOVES having his/her own spa in the ‘hood, haha,
Now here’s the thing you won’t believe.
Mama and I are watching the toilette of the merle – splash, splash, rub-a-dub-dub, beak under water, beak in the air, water, water everywhere, under the wings, under the tummy, it’s getting better and better and oh, so funny!
(I borrowed this wonderful video of a similar merle in a similar bathtub because I can’t seem to get a good video of our birdie without setting up papa’s camera.)
Exit one merle after major clean-up.
And THEN: that (dumb) dawdling dove who has been watching Mr/Ms/Mrs Merle bends over with his little beak and takes a BIG DRINK out of the spa!!!
Eeeeuuwwwe!
Now I know where “bird-brained” comes from.
(And ‘he-sheba’ doesn’t sound right...)
And hey, no drinking of bath water for those doves in the video, right? Must have more brain matter than ours.
Mama, do you think we should start a school for doves? They could work toward their BAs…Birdbath Awareness degree, haha.
Does she drink her bath water? The expression isn’t very classy!
No she’s not someone who drinks that bathwater or are you talking about mama or me because I certainly don’t drink my bathwater!
Yeah, boids, brains the size of, well, Bird Brains MOL MOL
I shouldn’t malign birds but really, folks, drinking bath water?
Drinking her bath water?? Not very classy!
You’re tellin’ me!
Loulou – we see birds bathing in the fountains in Nice!! WILD!!! I HATE baths – bet you do too!!! I run past (or hide in my stroller)when we pass Animal Paradise (Animal HELL) – but not so much Bull and Bill’s! Oh well…..
I thought doggies LOVED jumping in the sea and more.
You are too funny. 🙂
Well, laughter makes the world go sound.
Drinking bath water is just a small stop UP from drinking toilet water right Loulou? Dumb dove……yeah!
Hugs, Teddy
YEP!
Ewwwwwwh!!! Water from bird bottoms…ewwwwwh! How do you write that anyway?
Around here some birds go “anting” – they find an ant hill and fluff themselves over it. The ants get on them and squirt formic acid and it kills mites and other parasites bugging the bird. I don’t know if they then eat the ants or not.
BOY, that is wonderful…amazing Nature solution! Incredible. It sounds as if you live on the Serengheti!
Splish Splash it was takin’ a baff!
Ha ha mama LOVED that song. That and Yackety Yack.
