Here I am again, SACKED OUT!!! I haven’t been able to keep my eyes open since we landed back in Roma. I think this journey was a bit more traumatic (for everyone, haha) than we thought, since mama and papa haven’t been able to keep their eyes open EITHER! At least we faced adversity TOGETHER. A team, a family, a strength against all odds, united we stood, all for one and one for all.
Make that all for ME. Maybe next time they’ll leave me out of that group thingy entirely. Hope springs eternal…
BUT, the lovely bed and breakfast was just that. Here are a couple of the rooms:
And here I am exploring familiar territory:
Maybe I should jump on mama’s sweater and tear off the buttons in retribution for this kidnapping!
Then again, there were some pretty far out Roman statues in the palazzo rented by the B and B owners. And the owner had really good taste, I felt. Her mama had made all the doilies for the table tops and such, and all the furniture and prints and curtains were from shopping mercatini (little markets) where antique and second hand furniture is sold.
Mama loved this one of a lady with her little lambikin.
And here is the famous emperor, Trajan (Traiano).
And the lovely grillwork over the entrance to welcome us.
La Corte is the name of the B and B located in Palazzo Picedi Benettini in Sarzana, Italy. A grand palazzo from 1720.
I must say, I was impressed but if it is a bed and breakfast, WHERE WERE MY MORNING DISHES FULL OF KIBBLE AND WET FOOD?
I don’t know why they call it fasting when I was feeling really, really slow for that last leg of the trip.
Still…I think I am becoming an experienced traveller and building character, whatever that is.
Ho hum, back to normal. I think.
Did you have one of those beds all to yourself, Loulou? Are you & your humans still feeling drowzy? Mom says she can’t sleep at all for the first few days when she travels overseas. I can’t imagine not being able to sleep! I would prefer being drowzy! Hugs!
Actually, we are overseas. We only went by car from France to Italy, but mama gets jet-lag just doing that, haha.
What a beautiful place ! Despite the car rides, you look very relaxed, Loulou ! Purrs
Oh, thank you. It’s full of sun, which helps. And I am VERY relaxed finally. Just missing my garden a lot….I can’t go outside and I am outside a lot at that other place, but not too much in winter. it’s just that the weather is still so hot and wonderful here and I love the outdoors.
Thanks so much for sharing your travel experiences and photos!
Have a super Sunday…
Noodle and crew
Well, thank YOU for so many good ideas and comments on you know who and you know what. LOVE Noodle.
Wow, what beautiful rooms! Get some naps in Loulou! 🙂
Yes, the lady who decorated them did a bang-up job. Except for serving me BREAKFAST!!
Wow!! What a beautiful stopover along the way home !!! Mama googled it and I’m already imagining the grand tour in my (future) Ferrari, (maybe?) Pousette since we must further explore Italy’s beautiful towns. BUT, Loulou, you must write KittyTripAdvisor (not sure that exists – yet) and complain about your breakfast – when it is called a B&B. Harrumph – more like bed and barf for kitties? You all just need to recuperate with Mama’s Wonderful Home Cooking in your nice bed with the beautiful view on Rome. I’ll bet you’re in great form today. You could write an adventure book with all your travels and musings – sleep on THAT thought? 2 Bisous.
Hey, not a bad idea…THANK YOU. Or at least an article on why kitties are left out of b and b breakfast spreads! And boy, was there a spread.
Lovely rooms. Those beds look big enough for you to have room to play zoomies while your mama and papa sleep.
You do travel in style, except for the missing breakfast kibble.
Well, because the place is not well known and not on the beaten path, it is not expensive. Bed and breakfasts can be very reasonable if you’re not in cities or well-known towns. I did rom a bit on the rug in our room
LouLou, this trip seems to be wearing on you even more than usual. Hope you will be safe at home soon,
The lady with the lamb seems to have caught a foul ball from the American baseball playoffs too. I wonder what that is supposed to symbolize ?
Maybe she’s about to throw it for the lamb to play chase!
