I am EXHAUSTED!!!
Well, today was PACKED. Papa’s daughter was here for only four days so mama and he had lunch with her, then their little grandkid had a soccer match, and this, just before his sister’s 8th birthday party! What a day. And I am hoping they brought home some of those goodies that are always on the table (of course, what I really want is the chocolate cake but…dream on). And speaking of that, is it really bad to give me the completely empty Magnum stick after papa has laid waste to one? There is only about ONE tiny lick left of the stuff that sticks to the stick, so to speak, thanks to papa’s amazing ability to disappear a Magnum in a New York minute, whatever that is. Just curious.
Mama is reading the WONDERFUL BOOK, Makin’ Biscuits: Weird Cat Habits and the Even Weirder Habits of the Humans Who Love Them by Deborah Barnes and there are many things in it about what is good for us kitties and what is not and also some wonderful anecdotes from many bloggers and writers about kitties that has mama rolling off the bed. Which is not too good for me, since I am almost always sunk between mama’s knees and when she rolls, SHE ROLLS! And guess who gets dumped off the quilt? One guess.
NO, NO, not papa, you silly thing.
Anyway, the book is really lovely and such fun. She is reading aloud to me, and I am learning some very disturbing things–as in there are anthros who let their kitties jump up on counters to watch the meal prep and there are anthros who think they are going to find a kitty who decides to get ‘lost’ somewhere for whatever reason and there are even weirder anthros who think their house belongs to THEM! Can you imagine such craziness?
Well, I just hope some of this wisdom sinks into the pea brain of YOU KNOW WHO and that there might be some changes around here. I’ve always wanted to sit next to mama when she’s makin’ her own biscuits, haha.
A GREAT BOOK. A great gift for anyone who hasn’t really grasped the Real Truth about kitties and their vast importance in this thing called Life.
I love your picture, LouLou, you look very comfy. That book sounds pawsome. When it is available in our Coutry, we will buy it for sure. Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
Oh, I do hope you can get it. It’s a wonderful book on kitties.
Loulou – sure a sweet surprise to come upon this delightful assessment of our book, Makin’ Biscuits! We’re glad your human is enjoying it so much…
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts…and good luck with those changes around your house. We’ve nearly got our human 100% trained. She’s still not thrilled with the paw pat to the face at 4:30 am for breakfast, but oh well, we’ll keep it up until she gets used to it!
Holiday purrs from Deb Barnes and the Zee/Zoey and Makin’ Biscuits gang!
THANK YOU, Deb and Zee and Zoey for such a wonderfully informative book. Love, Loulou
We have a couple of stories in that book! The mom has it, but hasn’t read it yet.
Yes, and your stories are really NICE.
Another adorable photo of you, Loulou. Mommy bought the Makin Biscuits book but hasn’t started reading it yet. She needs some chuckles so we’ll get her to start it. Thanks for hopping with us. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
We loved the book too! Happy holidays
Happy hairballs and hissyfits to you, too.
That is a fun book, we were thrilled that she chose some of our stories.
Sounds like a really good book. Glad your mama is enjoying it. We hope she picks up something helpful to you, such as serving you breakfast in bed at 5 am every day. Was that in there by any chance? We’d like to use that one with Jan but don’t think she’d go for it.
In my dreams….
It took me a moment to realize you meant the “Magnum” of the ice cream variety, and were not referring to champagne or weaponry. Or Tom Selleck.
I have that book on my Kindle and am enjoying it very much !
And that picture of you is adorable. I am frequently exhausted too, but don’t look cute. Just exhausted.
Oh, thank you so much. It is probably the Magnum remains that give me my charm, haha.
Oh my cat, Loulou! That belly (the wrapped tail … and the folded front paws!!!) would get you just about whatever you wanted around here! Bear feels your pain … quite often I read in bed and laugh at what I’m reading and I wake the poor boy up. It’s so hard to catch a good nap with a human around!
Oh my cat, that has to be the funniest phrase you use. Thank you for that. I’m giggling as I purr.
Nice review and sounds just the book for me, I like a good solid reference book and something peep can learn from, though I doubt it would sink in unless I hit peep with it! purrs ERin
There is so much info in this book, mama is having to revise some of her ideas. All for the better!
