Hello out there. Do you know that today is Blog4Peace Day?
And boy, do we need peace in this upsetting world.
On the eve of elections, give thought to of all the positive things you wish to see executed and maintained by our government officials, and then give another thought to how many of those things have actually happened.
We all need food and shelter. We need jobs that pay a decent wage. We need help with our medical care expenses. and aid for the elderly. We need less worry about all of these needs, but above all, we need kindness and civility and empathy and compassion from one another and our leaders.
Do we have that?
In blogging for peace, all of us who blog are offering a few words that might make a difference if joined together into one plea, one wish. That we live in peace with one another, despite differences, since differences are what each human being is born with. Thank heaven, or we might be bored to tears in a robotic, sterile, world!
Peace on earth, good will toward anthros and animals. Do we have that? I think not. But perhaps we might reflect on it for one, sweet day. Thank you, Mimi Lenox who created blog4peace.com. Perhaps our meows will be heard, perhaps not.
But at least we opened our muzzles and put our paws to work to call for a better world.
Let’s hear it for PEACE!
I too wish we lived in a better, more human world.
A world in which Asia Bibi, for example, would be permitted to carry on with her life as a christian and be able to drink water from whatever source she wants.
Right now, some fanatics want her hanged.
I have read the whole account of this accusation and acquittal and it is hair-raising. Islam is NOT what the radical clerics insist it is, and their hatred and fanaticism is rampant after the high court in Pakistan sought to repeal the law against “blasphemy”…and mama is livid that two Muslim women could accuse a Christian women of blasphemy because she sipped from their hallowed cup. Unimaginable in 2018 but let us hope that the judiciary of Pakistan can subdue and control the fanatics who seek to change even the high courts of government.
Was that a kitty peace sign you gave in that first shot? I think so – and I second it!!! A wonderful list of what the world needs – and I have only one woof to add – truth. Mama is humming that old song that is so relevant today – “what the world needs now, is love, sweet love………”.
Oh, truth should have been on the top of the list. And I wish I had heard your maman sing..
So many great blogs are joining this. It’s brilliant!!
Well, the more, the stronger. Isn’t it great to have so many companions and we don’t even know a fraction of them?
Though it seems futile sometimes, we continue to purr for peace.
Yes, it does look bleak right now, but the pendulum swings, as Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s husband always assured her.
Beautiful peace post. XO
Thank you, Ellen. I think of “Prancie” often…
We have blogged for peace for a number of years but this year we didn’t make it. We’re getting old and slowing down. Glad you posted, though.
Well, you don’t LOOK old! Maybe Marcus keeps you young.
Oh LouLou – we must continue to work and continue to hope.
Oh, every morn, the first thing we do…hope that Nov 6 brings a surprise.
Great post ! We’re purring for a peaceful world too. Purrs
