Well, we did it last year. Why not this one?  It is a bit early for seeds, but what the heck–look what came up last time!

Okay, I’ll water.  And fertilize, if I have anything to say about it…haha.

Hey, mama, you haven’t composted this yet!! How am I supposed to grow seeds in a compost-less garden?

ARGGGGGG!!! If mama sees one of these she cuts them in half with scissors like a samurai–but fortunately, there are none in this little ville.  At least, she hasn’t SEEN any yet.  What we have here are those worms that live in pine trees that walk around in chains.  Not metal ones, but MAKING chains…

ECKKKKKKKK….

I’m not going NEAR one of those babies, no way, no how.  You get bitten by a caterpillar like those above and you are dead meat!

You see what happens when you remember the compost, mama?  Well, it’s a good thing I did…

BEFORE – Remember this?

AFTER

Yep…All tomatoes, and that barren piece of land above is on the right.  But this was last year, alas.  Only time will tell what happens this year.  We plant at the waning of the full moon, as our neighbour tells us to do, so we can wait a couple of weeks before the plunge.  But get out your seeds–soak the parsley, spinach, coriander, peppers and most others overnight and you’ll have given them a quick start when you put them in the ground.

AND AFTER!!!! He uses donkey droppings…well, I can’t compete with that!

I’m putting in my catnip, full moon or not….
