Whoa–that’s a lot of sauerkraut!!!
WOW!!!!
I think mama may take up knitting or scrabble or bingo after seeing this guy’s produce.
Boy, could a lot of babies be born under THOSE leaves!
And I could certainly have a nicely hidden nap somewhere in there. Can you believe this?
Mama’s zucchine looks like a pencil compared to what this guy probably grows in HIS patch.
Do you think he would make stuffed cabbage leaves for the entire Ukranian army? I certainly hope so. They need all the strength they can get.
Imagine the perfume of this baby when cooking…oh, boy!
This is mama’s tiny claim to fame–one pathetic little pimiento de padron and the seeds she gave her neighbour produced HUNDREDS.
No prizes for this little fellow…poor mama.
Well, summer is winding down anyway, that’s for sure, and that queen cabbage sort of says it all. We certainly do NOT have anything in our garden like that, and mama is pulling up all the poor little tomato plants that suffered from the winds of Africa ripping through their leaves. Actually it’s sort of nice having mama spade up the garden and spread her special compost over all the beds for the next season. I know it’s supposed to be nice, clean, chopped straw but…
It sure looks to me like something else!
So there!
Crikey! That’s HUGE! I think the cabbage is bigger than the man who grew it. Your Mama must be proud of her little pimiento de patron, think quality not quantity here.
Is the special and tempting compost hemp Loulou? It looks like it, very good for kitties, retains heat etc and, if needs must, very absorbant too!
Tee hee!
Luff Mungo
Yes, you clever devil…it is HEMP. I thought that was…er…something else, sort of like my catnip? But yes, it’s a perfect compost and mama had NO weeds this season. “How to Have a Green Thumb Without An Aching Back” is still her bible.
The ape has a friend who beds her horses down on hemp (straw allergies) and when the new hemp is laid down there is definitely the odd note in there that could attract a pussycat.
How lovely to have horses on hemp! Is she a cowgirl? or cowboy? Mama is from Texas but she and horses never really hit it off…too bad, because mama loves them, but she went for a kitty instead.
Jan usually uses a whole head of cabbage to make a bowl of cole slaw. I don’t think we have a bowl big enough for that cabbage.
Oh, Jan, mama would love your recipe for cole slaw!!! Even if she has to use that tiny pepper in place of a cabbage, haha. Seriously, even I love cole slaw!!! Maybe it’s the mayo.
