“I don’t know–Am I suppose to have something in here?”
You know, mama showed me a cartoon in the Italian paper this morning and there was this drawing of a guy who looked a lot like Berlusconi and he’s talking to his little doggie and it looks as if he is saying “So are you with me, little cute doggie?” And the little cute doggie is looking up at him and saying, “Chi sei?” Which means, “Who (on earth) are you?” So even his little doggy has decided to jump ship, and it’s about time, that’s for sure. For all of Italy.
Obama has a doggie and I am sure his would never say that to him, no matter what he did, because Mr. Obama has a good heart and good intentions and is certainly not a thief who has kept his country in a kind of political ransom for twenty years, not to mention the teen-aged girls distributed among his seedy entourage. I, for one, would never have graced his halls with my elegant presence, or if I had found myself at the door of that huge house (around the corner from mama and papa, by the way!), I would have left him a little surprise on the mat!!
You think that we kitties don’t think about these things, but we do. I mean, look at all that time we have all day long just lounging around (after food, that is) on couches or under beds or out in the garden under the spigariello, dreaming the day away, but there are some kitties who actually put their grey matter to work and try to figure out what anthros everywhere are up to and if it is going to influence their lives in any way that might call for immediate action.
Action. Not really a kitty word, but I know what it means, and Mr. Letta in Italy is calling to action his government and his peers and the Italian people to try to trim the sails on a ship that has listed dangerously for so long (whatever listing means…to me, it means that something is sort of leaning to one side precariously when it really needs to be taken over by a good captain and moved forward smoothly through the water; it’s sort of the way most doggies walk if you look at them from behind—which is something I try NOT to do, but things happen).
I like the name “Letta” because it sort of rhymes with “bettah”…which I hope life for the Italians will be from now on.
But papa says, “Berlusconi is like Carrie—he keeps coming back.”

Hurrah–He’s gone! I think….
