Hey, mama, could we have Velvet Chicken tonight? I found the recipe! (Loulou, that’s not my Chinese cookbook…good try.)
Well, mama (who is in her Chinese cooking phase – these thing happen) was reading about the life of Joyce Chen, the woman who brought new interest in and understandng of Chinese cuisine to the USA so long ago. Mama met her once in LA and found her to be an outgoing and lovely person, so our spark today is from her.
If you see a door, don’t ask if you can go through it. Just open the door.
That may not work every time, but it’s sure fun to think about when confronted by a door that’s tempingly ajar.
Wait a minute, that’s when a door ISN’T a door, haha.
My personal spark: When you see a hand, stick your head under it. That goes for anthros, too.
AWWW
Loulou you know how o read? I don’t but I watch TV. And sit in front of the unfinished cat picture – one looks like Mya!! I’ll send!!!
Glad your maman is painting! Wish mine were…
I like your Spark a lot, Loulou. Get all the pets you can!
Well, they are rollin’in…
Love the Spark and you’re most adorable and very wise, Loulou.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
You are so welcome. Love those hops.
Are you reading Chinese?! I can’t read anything. Except red lights! I can’t read anything.
Great spark and great advice from you LouLou. That is cool that your mama got to meet Joyce Chen.XO
Yes, well, mama was in the food business so that was the reason.
A corrollary of your spark is : It’s easier to get forgivness than permission.
Oh, we like that one, merci. They go hand in hand.
Excellent Sparks of wisdom Loulou!
Especially that second one, right?
Yes, if you don’t go through a door, you for sure might miss out on something wonderful. Doors, esp the closed ones are very enticing!
Joyce was a gem…too bad she is sort of forgotten nowadays. I read that whole article. I wonder what happened to the children she didn’t flee to America with?
Yes, a nice warm hand on the head to calm, shelter and give gentle rubs…Ahhh!
Good question but I’ll bet Mr Google knows all. Ms Chen was lots of fun, mama says.
Loulou, I must confess: I do not cook.
The Hubby does ALL of the cooking, cleaning, and most all of the kitchen duties.
My job is to feed the kitties, boil water for my own tea, and once in awhile, make myself a sandwich.
If I time it just right, I walk into the kitchen when The Hubby is rounding the corner, and he’ll just take over.
So, I rarely make any food for myself.
WHAT A HUBBY!!! Well, papa does all the dishes, mama loves to do all the cooking, and then they share the other jobs, but mama does the garden. Period. Papa is good, however, at making holes for posts for holding up tomatoes, haha.
I love YOUR Spark dear Loulou….I do that – always looking for a nice soft hand to give me a belly rub or a pat on the head (or a snack!). My Mom and Dad love Chinese food but never share it with me as they say it’s too spicy.
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, it’s not for us kitties, but maybe the prep – chicken!
