Pretty hunky, eh? Be still my heart…
Well, you know how I’m always talking about the kitty in the big shoes and how it’s my favourite story and so on, and I’ve just found out that the magnificent chateau that inspired the story of Puss in Boots is actually empty and can be explored by anyone wishing to visit.
The Chateau d’Oiron is certainly beautiful enough to inspire great tales, and I wonder it there are any real tails around there? Surely there must be some kitties in a place that was so inspiring to Charles Perrault, the author of that lovely children’s story.
Mama actually read some of it to me once and now all I can think of is that handsome, dashing kitty with his feathered hat and sword and his swashbuckling antics!
But the story of the chateau is really worth a read, if you have a bit of time today to absorb a little French history. Imagine, a huge, beautiful place like that empty of visitors just waiting for your imagination to take wing in every room.
I like that. A winged imagination, that is. That’s right down my alley when I’m stretched out daydreaming…
How appropriate to feature Puss in Boots on Meow Like a Pirate Day. Arrrrrgh!
Wow, that was totally inadvertent but I’m so glad I did it. I didn’t know what Pirate Day was!!!
So when are your mom and dad going to tour the chateau and tell us all about it. With pictures, hopefully. It sounds like a fascinating piece of history.
I wish! It’s far away from here but it looks awfully nice and fun to run around in. I’ll bet they’d let me in…
What an interesting old place. We think it should be renovated to provide an enormous sanctuary for furry souls who have no home. Bet there are loads of mousies there.

Now see, you guys ALWAYS have the best ideas!!! How much do you think they want for it…? I’ll look over my stash of kibble bits and mouse tails and see if I come up with the down payment.
I just realized that if I could trap a goose we COULD come up with a down payment…hahahahaha
