This post was for yesterday but WordPress was doing something to its servers so no blog yesterday. Ah, well….
So where is this guy anyway? Oh, I get it. I’m too eager and it’s too early. Okay, okay, already…
I’m making my OWN list and checking it twice.
Just to make sure I didn’t leave anything out.
I mean, anyone….
One of the step grandkids has a birthday one week before Christmas and mama is thrashing around trying to figure out if it’s fair that she gets double prezzies each year and how to give her something for each day and not make it too overwhelming to the brother. Oh, holidays….
SO I’m posting this now but will post another later today to get opinions on something that is bothering mama. Nothing serious, and it would never have been a question years ago but papa’s daughter brought up something that got our attention.
So…see you later, sweet potater.
Whatever that is.
Well LouLou, as long as the kids are older than 5, they should unnerstand that one is gettin’ not only a Christmas gift but birthday as well. Least, that’s what we think. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Yes I agree. They are separate days and that’s that.
LOL – Later, Sweet Potater!! Mama’s friend Mary Lee was singing the praises of baked sweet potatoes and mama’s going to the market today to get some to bake!! I’m going out now, to water (and fertilize) the curb – I flatly refused to go out last night – rain, lightning – and hailstorms on the coast around Cannes – and avalanches and snow in the hill towns!! Good Grief!!! But today is beautiful…….later sweet potater, teehee……
Hey, you would probably LOVE sweet potaters, Mya, even with the marshmallows on top!
We know potato and tater but what in the world is a sweet potater? Are they good to eat? Maybe Jan will make us some for Christmas.
Hey, I just got my poetic license, you funny farmers. Rhymes with later, haha.
WordPress can be a pain sometimes.
Well there was Error 502 or 504 whatever that number was. I thought that was a number for Levis, haha.
I guess December birthdays can be a little challenging. My auntie’s birthday is early in December and Mom suspects Auntie may have felt a little short-changed of gifts on her birthday when she was a little girl, ’cause family was focused more on getting ready for xmas.
Well, this little grandanthro is NOT shortchanged, you can bet your boopy.
LouLou, my birthday is Dec 28, so I got a lot of “double duty” presents. Is the sibling old enough to realize that THEY get two presents – just maybe months apart? Some people with Christmas birthdays celebrate “half birthdays” instead – six months away. I personally feel like it’s two separate days. if it isn’t on Dec. 25. Same as it would be on Jan. 25, etc etc. But that’s just me.
“He who’s born on Christmas
Is lucky from the start.
Has laughter and good fortune
And a contented heart
Is loved by noble company
Has all that would suffice !
But he who dies on Christmas
Goes straight to Paradise.”
Wow…the 28th! That’s REALLY close. And yes, they should be separated just as if a birthday were in mid-July. You get the prezzies anyway, no matter when it is. I think it is a bit of stress for the parents really, because of getting ready for holidays.
