Well, mama and I are reading a wonderful book called Love in Lower Case, by a Spanish author, Francesc Miralles, and the character lives in Barcelona and in the very first pages, a cat walks into his life and he has always said that he HATES cats, but oh, boy, does it get better.
Isn’t it great when you think you don’t really like something or someone (like cats or dogs or Brussels sprouts or radishes or anchovies or whatever) and then someone you really like or love or esteem makes you a pizza with anchovies and all of a sudden, you really LIKE anchovies (and him/her, too) or maybe you find out that French-fried Brussels sprouts (thank you, tailgating tidbits.BlogSpot.com) all crisp and nice sautéed in olive oil
are absolutely addicting, especially with a little lemon squeezed over them, or maybe someone you really don’t like much or thought you didn’t like walks by your house with the cutest little Yorkie you’ve ever seen or maybe a teacup Chihuahua and you say to yourself, “That is one adorable dog, even if I don’t care for them” and them the little doggy reaches out to you with his paw and give you a lick on the hand and you’re in love. Just like that! Just like snapping your fingers/paws!
Wait a minute. Is this kitty going to lick my hand? It’s not a Yorkie!
Don’t you just love when that happens? You change your mind all of a sudden and drop a prejudice you might have had or maybe you just taste something you thought you would hate, for the first time, and find that it’s delicious. Or maybe that happens with a new friend. Or maybe, like mama, who thought that Italy was the only place on earth (outside of her country, the USA) that she’d want to be and then she had the good fortune to discover France and all of its beauty and now she has THREE sweet countries she loves and they are not like each other at all but our lives are really enhanced by opening up to both instead of just one.
I think many would like this book. It is sort of all about how things are connected to one another, as I am connected to you out there who read my ramblings, and the reason I LOVE this book is because it all starts with a kitty and a saucer of milk…I won’t tell you more.
I just wish mama would give ME a saucer of something pretty soon! That book made me hungry.
Mama, is that you shaking that kibble bag? It’s about time!
We have the same problem as you, Loulou. Everything makes us think of either food or a nap. 🙂
Hey, we are SOLE MATES!
That does sound like a good book. I am glad she gave it at a chance, I probably would have been annoyed he didn’t like cats and stopped reading it. Those Brussel sprouts look good too. And I hope you got something yummy to eat. XO
It’s a sweet book and boy, do we need that in these times. I love reading over mama’s shoulder and the kitty….well, I won’t tell you.
Mom read and reviewed this book a while back. We like your non-review, review, and of course, we loved your photo. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Yes, the author is a sweet writer. If you mama has some books to pass this way to MY mama, PLEASE send the titles. Mama eats books. She just got Dictator about Cicero in ancient Rome. It’s supposed to be the best history book on those times to come out in a long time. Mama just review, on Amazon, Ad In Ad Out, if you like tennis. Written by a good friend.
Loulou that sounds like a wonderful book. Is it available in English do you think??? I do love hearing from you.
Oh, mama reads only in English. She is still stuck in The Stranger on page 14 in French. Haha.
Oh LouLou you look so cute. We always luv your fotos. But we will stick to pepperoni pizzas, fank you. Wouldn’t wanna mess it up with anchovies. MOL Hope you get some noms soon, me’s gettin’ a little hungry too, now dat you mention it. MOL
Luv ya’

PeeEss: We almost always reply to comments on our blog lessen they are from blogspot bloggers and even them sometimes.
I see each time that you liked my comment but I don’t see replies. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Will try again! Hello, Raena!
Dat’s okay LouLou. Not sure why you don’t see ’em, but ifin you come back to our bloggy, we have comments divided. Newer comments go to da top of da comment list and me hinks there’s only like 5 per page. We’s thought about changin’ it, but we don’t want peeps to have to scroll through a bunch of comments to leave one themselves. Anyways, have a great weekend.
