Uh, oh, mama’s on the warpath.
She and papa, as you might have guessed by now, are avid soccer fans, but in the Roma game last night against a Turkish team, one of the Turkish fans threw a hard object at Pelligrini, who was taking a corner kick, and it hit him in the forehead and drew blood!
Aren’t sports supposed to be sporting, mama asks me all the time?
Throwing objects at the players or anytime is a big no-no!
But the game played on (the wound was bandaged), and of course mama will watch again and again no matter what.
If I were a soccer team, I would love mama and papa as fans, but then again, they’re my fans even if I haven’t ever scored, haha.
Of course I haven’t scored, I play GOALIE.
I’m ready, team..
The humans remind me of doggies – they chase after balls just to go after them over and over again. But they can’t eat them, so why do they bother?
An astute observation, dear Heart.
We hope they caught that person and prosecute him for his actions!
I’m sure they got him out of there, but with Mr. Erdogan in the audience, I’m not so sure….
I just read an article about Erdogan insulting the French president.
Frankly, I don’t give a damn, even though in principle, as a French, I ought to feel insulted too. But I don’t, because E. Macron is NOT “my” president.
But it seems that the Turks are rather vindictive these days. It’s a pity that the game was not declared over.
Loulou, in the first picture you look so ritzy!
In the second one… Mmouais…
Erdogan has many followers, just like Trump. I can hardly say the two names without cringing.
I wish we could swap our presidents!!!!!
Well, Loulou, if I’d been there I would have bitten his ankle – and drew blood! How awful – and I (nor mama) has never watched a soccer game in our lives! But hey, fair is fair and there’s no need for violence. The world is getting a bit violent – and I don’t like that at all…..
Yes, sports are sports and when the “fans”, called ultra when they are violent, are not arrested immediately and banned from games, mama gets crazy. The ultra game-goers are dangerous and yet allowed to run free…WHY?
Yikes! It is not often one draws blood in soccer.
Rare, indeed, except by accident, like an elbow or knee in the wrong place, but this was intention to harm.
You look ready for the block Loulou!
I am always ready for the block but I need some of those mole-like GLOVES.
Yep, they’re your fans, no matter whether you play soccer or not. No one had better throw anything at you! (How dangerous and unsportsmanlike to throw anything at any player!)
Well, I know that, and yes, no one had better throw ANYTHING at me or…….
Oh LouLou -what a world.
You certainly appear to have that goal covered ! Brava !
No ball got past my sticky paws!
