Did you see that GOAL by Argentina? WOW!
Those Argentines really pulled it off tonight. And those Belgian guys were TALL, and I mean, really TALL, and they were fast and they were TALL and they were snappy on the uptake and very speedy in the leg area and at the goal, they were TALL, but Argentina’s players are really a formidable team—accurate passes and great ball-stealing took them into the semi- finals. I sat here with papa and mama watching Messi in the last few minutes and that’s the only moment in the game that gave me pause (no pun intended), because he began a magnificent run down the field with only one defender on his tail and was right at the goal and kicked and MISSED. Game over.
Oh, boy.
One really does not wish to do that in the World Cup semi-finals and in the last 40 seconds of a game. No, no.
I’ll probably read something about that tomorrow in the news, and I’m sure there will be criticism of the event, but it was great fun to watch his plays and his amazing ball-handling ability. We kitties are so able with balls and such that when we see an anthro who can control a little round object, we want to be admiring and encouraging about it.
But I’ll bet a kitty would have put that ball in the net, no two ways about it.
So now, all I have tonight is Netherlands/Costa Rica and then I’m passing out.
This soccer world is fascinating and I really have loved following the teams, but hey, papa, can’t we get back to House of Cards pretty soon? We kitties need variety in our lives, you know that. And mama says you’ve recorded a bunch of movies that I might like but there is no time to watch with all these soccer balls flying around.
I hope we can see something for ME soon, like Alice In Wonderland or Breakfast at Tiffany’s…something with CATS in it.
Loulou, you and the Funny Farmers would make a wonderful football team. I will be manager and relax on the sidelines purring some encouragement.
I love a tennis ball ‘cos they are slightly furry so I can get my claws into them. Your Mama could go to a pet supplies shop and see if they have giant tennis balls (dogs like these) They are great for kitties, you can really give them a good mauling and strike goals that would break the goal posts!
The ape has been instructed to send you a picture. I will maul her cheesy feet until she does so
Luff
Mungo
Mungo, you are the BEST. I love your doggy friends, too, and they are pretty cute, but I fell for your name months ago and then there was a photo but I lost it!!! I’d like to put you in the blog someday soon when I talk about friends. Thanks to your mommy but please don’t maul her footsies!
We do get the idea you are a fan, Loulou. They’d be big winners if they had Marcus on their team. He’s an obsessive player. To the point he sometimes won’t let me play. He plays all the positions on both teams. Quite a feat for a woofie. 🙂
WOW, both positions!!!!I want to kick around a few with him NOW.
I’m actually not even that good with the lowly tennis ball, but I think I just need bigger balls, so to speak, and then I’ll be like Marcus….haha.
