Mama, do NOT make me collect bat guano, okay?
Or How Mama Stopped Worrying And Learned To Love Bat Guano! YES, bat poo! (With apologies to Stanley Kubrick and George C. Scott)
I couldn’t believe it on that fateful day that mama FINALLY planted her broad, fave, feve beans but there she was with a little sack of what looked like…well…bat poo in powdered form.
I’m going to hide here so she won’t ask me to help…haha.
Hey, did you think she was going to collect it herself from those little upside down creatures? Not sure they would be amenable to that, probably drive them batty, haha…but seriously, folks, beans thrive on guano as do most other veggies.
There are lots of bat caves in Texas and mama has been in them. You do NOT want to stay too long, even though the little cuties are harmless.
Still, a few fly around here occasionally on an autumn night and we go inside!
Mama doesn’t want them in her hair, by accident, but I think they would be sort of fun as patio lights if they would only glow in the dark!
Loulou, they won’t get in YOUR hair – it’s too short!
So bat poop is good fertilizer. We wonder about cat poop. 🙂
Hey, mama has not ruled that out yet….I go in the garden and everything seems to grow tall!
Your turn at bat has a whole new meaning now Loulou!
OH, THAT’S FUNNY! That’s a GOOD one.
That’s so interesting, Loulou. What a clever mama you have. Bats are cute, but definitely not when they’re trapped in your hair – yikes!
Only cute upside down.
Ooooh – bat guana – I love sniffing poo! Mama is cringing – but that’s what dogs DO! Cats too? Bats are cute little things – not sure I’ve ever seen one. We went to a birthday party last night at a little restaurant and it was such fun! Your mama and papa will remember Adrian – there was singing, dancing, fun people who had moved to Nice from all over the world! FUN – since I am a party animal!!!!
Oh, new friends! Sogood to have friends near home. I have some here but not like your family, Mya.
I learned something new 🙂
Very effective on gardens.
Harvesting bat guano is big business in some places.
Yeah, Texas, haha.
