As you can plainly see, I am out of steam. That was an ordeal, believe me. Well, according to mama, that is. The artists have to give a little speech to the maire and his cohorts, and since the mayor was not there, mama and Anne had to mention the assistant maire (the adjoint maire), and several of his associates and one of them was called Camrruby and mama was sure she would address him as Mr. Carnuba! As in car wax. But they both managed to pull it off and get on with the evening—read: FOOD.
Which is all I was interested in, frankly. Those little salame tidbits and tons of guacamole, that’s what I call a party! Not to mention salmon on caper butter toasts, drool.
Maryline, Sue and Lynne, THESE were the Angels of the Kitchen, making salmon crackers spread with caper or artichoke butter and lifted everyone’s spirits all evening. And jack-of-all-trades, Frederic, but mama did not get a good pic of him, shame on mama.
This is Mya’s papa, taking pics in mama’s section of the expo while mama takes a pic of HIM!
This is called Peaceable Kingdom. Hey, papa named it, what are you gonna do?
And here’s papa with that Bengal beauty, Zuzie. People seemed to like this one a lot. Hey, spots sell…
This was the poster kitty–entitled “Moi?” (As in de Nero’s Taxi Driver–“You talkin’ to ME?”).
Well, here I am, really tired out after having to watch a gazillion soccer matches, haha.
And this is on the couch in Rome, sort of draped, I would say. Hey, I’m the only model around the house, okay?
Mama called this “Chat Japonais” because she used one of those brushes that makes Japanese writing. Whatever that is.
Mya’s papa and mama in front of two of Mya’s mama’s beautiful paintings—one with Mya as a grande dame and a lovely odalisque.
And one of Mya’s mama’s WONDERFUL canvasses….bet you can’t find me in this, right?
Well, I can’t really show you more until the next episode. There were ALOT of paintings and drawings, but mama is attempting to upload her videos of the evening to YouTube so maybe we will luck out and be able to put one in tomorrow.
Me, I am BEAT!!!
Those mamas had SOOOO much fun. And now they are starting to plan another one NEXT year…oy!.
How does it feel to be an art muse, Loulou? Purr-sonally I would forgo the salami bits for a kiss from you. Maybe you and your momma could open up your very own art gallery? Purrs.
Well, I could, maybe, but mama is awfully busy with other stuff. Maybe call it Loulou, the Muse Gallery.
The drawings are so beautiful! We’re so happy that the Expo went well.
Yes, those two rascals had a ball but I was HOME ALONE and loving every quiet moment!
oh that looks delightful! Love your Mama’s sketches and those paintings! Magnificent!
They really had a ball, no doubt about that?
Congratulations to both artists! It sounds like it was a grand success. I hope you can download a smattering of the show on You Tube so we all can share in the fun!
Oh, I am trying, I am trying!!! Thank you and see you soon.
Love Bengal beauty – reminds me of how sweet my husband is with our kitty, Queenie.
Oh, you are so lucky to have a bengal…they are so sweet and SOOO beautiful.
oh no Loulou, our kitty is a tortoise shell, but what I meant is the endearing way pappa is with the kitty in the drawing, reminds me of my husband. 🙂
I say, Loulou, you are immortalised on canvas and on paper as well as on the internet! We both love the art, though feel you should have been more to the centre of that canvas (everyone’s a critic ) and can see why you are so tired all the time…. the things we endure for our art, huh. MOL
We shall look forwards to more pictures, video in the coming weeks
Toodle pips and artistic purrs
ERin
Oh, Erin, you are a true art critic. You would make a wonderful model, you know that, right? But yes, modeling is so very tiresome.
Loulou, we are all laughing at Peaceable Kingdon since we know it’s ONLY in your dreams that you would do such a thing – but that look on your face captures how it is a true fantasy. Like I would have if I had my paw on a steak! Well, Loulou, our mamas and papas are having a ball – I am there, so will report – but there are other DOGS as well. I thought I was the princess-dog, but there were others. I give them my meanest look possible and they IGNORE me!! And yesterday something resembling a cross between a bulldog and a pony arrived! Mama was ooohing and ahhhing – well, he was cute – heaven knows what we’ll see today!!! Well – never boring with our wild and crazy mamas!!!!!
Oh, Mya, you really hit the mark with your observations, but I am SOOOO jealous that you are THERE all day long and getting petted and coooed over….well, you are the cutest doggy ever as a model, plus I have heard that MY mama give you cherry tomatoes. Whoa…weird is weird. But I love weird, which is why we are friends.
Looks like a nice evening. Beautiful drawings.
Thank you and yes, it was. Great fun for mama and Mya’s mama.
Wow, LouLou, what a fabulous expo ! Too bad we couldn’t sample the salmon crackers.
Oh, boy, did I get a cracker when they got home with the leftovers. ONE! Those vernissage-goers do love the eating part!
