Lest we forget WHERE Ferguson is!! Ironic to be near a town called Berkeley…
Imagine a city in which black citizens (and other minorities, no doubt) are targeted to help pay for the city’s expenses. Where kids in cars are arrested for pot they do not possess or for walking in a ‘funny way’, and where a man waiting in his car to rest after exercise at a park is arrested for pedophilia.
Welcome to Ferguson, Missouri and remember the name. You do not want to live there or even be there, from what mama read me today.
Where are the effects in Ferguson of the strides made against racism in the USA? Remember Selma? Remember Martin Luther King. Remember the brave woman who would not sit at the back of the bus? How short is your memory, Ferguson?
What other cities in the United States of America train their police officers to taunt and terrorize black citizens and others who are not white; to commit acts against their citizens that are so abominable that the citizens hesitate to call on law enforcement when needed for fear of being harmed themselves?
Who’s in charge here, Ferguson? When are you going to realize that you are in the 21st century and get in step with other cities around you who are organized FOR their citizens, not against them?
These clear cases of police racism should be reviewed and punished accordingly, mama says. If you can’t trust your local police, who on earth can you trust?
Shame on you, Ferguson. And shame on your mayor and police chief who clearly have no moral sense relating to their jobs. The citizens pay YOUR salaries, dudes. Shape up!
I’m shaping up with kitty yoga. I’m already shaped up that other way, unlike Ferguson officials.
Mommy used to live in Missouri. But near Kansas City. The fort across the river was calling all it’s soldiers in and cancelling leave when Dr. King was murdered. Guess what. Everybody went to church services, no one rioted! Churches were full. Seriously! Some people get it right!
That must have been really moving. And yes, some people do get it right. I wish there were more.
Glad we don’t live in Ferguson!
I’m so glad you all don’t live there, too.
What a place.
Thanks for heads up on two Ferguson maps, but I did that on purpose as a statement of where Ferguson is and so no one would forget where it is. But it looks better in one, not two.
