Well, mama had to fill in today, although an awful lot of things trigger nostalgia for me…sigh….like my SOFA SPOT where I tried to look cute for a snuggle….
1. I hope to never taste __certain medicines__ again.
2. No matter how hard I try, I can’t ___change worrying about our country and its insane leader and the very dangerous Musk-e-teers.
3. Italy is a ___country that (always) triggers nostalgia for me.
4. I wish I could visit the fictional world of __Three Pines village in the books by Louise Penny. Such fun characters to meet…
A fun recipe. Just pretend the boiled potatoes are you know who.
Boil smallish potatoes until smashable. Brush a baking sheet with olive oil and place potatoes on it as in the photo. Smash each one with a rolling pin or mallet or whatever you have to smash with. Mix 1/4 cup olive oil with 2 garlic cloves, chopped fine, fresh rosemary leaves, chopped fine, salt and pepper to taste and a sprinkling of sweet paprika. place under a medium grill until they are crispy around the edges.
LOVE these quick, fun potatoes. You might have other ideas for toppings…cheese…sour cream…would love to know.

Those potatoes look delightful!
Italy is beautiful. I haven’t been in so many years, but I do remember.
You can do those potatoes in minutes Just boil however many you want, smash them and brush with the olive oil mix. Easy peasy.
Good answers by your mama. The Lady would love to visit Italy one day.
Let us know if that happens You never know where we are and when, but we might there, too.
Potatoes are one of my Mom and Dad’s favorite things and Mom makes them ALLLL kinds of ways. Miss Ingrid helped me in the kitchen today with a potato recipe in fact for my “bacon” post. Loulou you look cute no matter if you’re on your favorite sofa or walking through your garden!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Merci, Mr Teddy and yes, potatoes are kings around here, uh, queens, mama says, king is a word we have taken our of our conversations. Mashed potatoes are mama’s favorite…but they have to be pretty decadent along with the Greek yogurt she uses in place of cream, but there’s no stand-in for butter!
TBT: I do “smashed potatoes” often. The meat tenderizer does a good job (flat bottom). Then fry them. Instant hash browns…
WONDERFUL and yes mama has a mallet with a flat side and ridged side. LOVE these ‘taters!
Potatoes look great- thanks for the recipe. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Things are pretty scary in the US. XO
You are so welcome and it’s more than scary. It’s dangerous to everyone in our country, even the MAGA radicals and those who were duped by his lies.
“Smashed potatoes” ! We love it !
They are so, so tasty, too. Mama loves potatoes any whichaway you fix ’em.
When we get a ban on glyphosate and I can eat potatoes again…Neither major party thought they wanted Secretary Kennedy, but I think he won the election for the side that recognized his value. Though it remains to be seen whether even he can get any of the profitable poisons banned.
If he bans vaccines, so many, many will suffer and possibly die. We have organic potatoes in our area but he may get people to eat more wisely and ban horrible pesticides, among them, the one that harms potatoes.
You look very sweet on your sofa spot. Good fill ins from your mama, but I don’t know #4. Those potatoes look very tasty. We have our main meal at 1pm, so they would make a good evening supper.
Oui, great for supper and you can dip them in Greek yogurt or sour cream or have them with scrambled or poached eggs. NUMMY.
