Ooh…the scent of spring…
Well, today is muggy and foggy and damp and mama left her tomato seedlings (Andine Corne) out overnight, thinking they would build up their muscles, and this weather turned around!
So today I’m going to remember a few days ago when I could surround myself with spring’s flowers and be in the sun all day if I wanted.
Mr Sun will be back tomorrow. THEY say.
But who are THEY?
And how do THEY know these things?
Assez! Basta!
Right now I’m having a Proustian experience, remembrance of things past…sigh…
II be itt will be delighhtful when the sun shines again, to go out and imbibe in the floral delicacies of your garden! Hope your tomatoes are doing well, despite the rainy day.
Oh, they are still in their growing pots but merci, they are wonderful and ready for the homeland, ie tomato supports in the ground.
It’s always good to stop and smell the flowers, Loulou, and even roll around in them too. ~Ernie
Yes, it’s my little perfumed self that attracts more rubs, haha.
Looks like a nice spot to just lie down in the sun and enjoy the flowers but we also know (at least here) that the sun can vanish in an instant and wind and rain can arrive! Hope the tomato seedlings are coming along well…Homegrown tomatoes are THE BEST!
Hugs, Teddy and Mom
Merci, Teds, the seedlings are full grown transplant-me-NOW plants and the waning of the full moon, which is when to plant according to our garden guru.
Such pretty pictures of you in amongst the flowers, Loulou. Love it!
Merci, Miliza. And because of the weather changes in the world, the flowers are out two week earlier than before!
Oh how I would love to roll in flowers – YOU look so pretty -There aren’t any here – just orange trees! In the back Pappa planted some flowers but they are on trees! I can’t wait to visit you and we can roll around together!!
Mama might have cherry tomatoes by then, YAY!
YAY is RIGHT, LOL!!!
Yes, cheerleaders together, we, Mya.
You sure are quite the explorer Loulou!
Well, I find flowers and I’m happy.
Hope you get some sun soon. XO
WE DID, WE DID, beautiful days ahead.
Can you tell us the names of these flowers LouLou ? Inquiring minds want to know.
Candytuft…LOVE that name, and then there is alyssum, which looks similar but candytuft is tougher and reseeds well, coming back every spring. Mama had a friend who thought alyssum smelled like kitty pee, haha. But we don’t.
Dear Loulou, we had glorious weather for awhile, then rain and cold have come back to us.
Mother Nature has things on a yoyo, dontcha think?
P.S.
Chili Bruce and Manny were named “Bruce Wayne” and “Batman” when we adopted them, not knowing if they were their ‘real’ names or not, so we adjusted them to suit us.
Bruce Wayne became Chili Bruce Lee; Chili for a favorite character in a Leonard Elmore story, and Lee added for the martial artist Bruce Lee.
Manny was easier; Batman to Manny.
The Hubby and I called them the big one and the small one, even though the difference is miniscule, but CB has an enormous appetite, while Mans picks at his food.
THANK YOU FOR NAME ORIGINS. Mama loved that Elmore character, too. GREAT names. Mama found (past kittes) Fiat at the Fiat agency in Santa Barbara, Louie was named after Joan Greenwood saying “Louie, Louie” to Alec Guiness in Kind Hearts and Coronets, Sushi was black and white (a sushi roll, haha), Luna was saved on Mulholland Drive under a full moon, Hooker was found in a really hookery place on a deserted street, Drywall was found in an unfinished building site, and Loulou is just so French. Love your two matching kitties so much!
