Well, tonight is the night our little village has a huge fireworks show over the sea in the bay and everyone is on pins and needles (ouch!) to see if the WIND will die down before 10 tonight! Or in our time-speak, 22:00h. THEY will be watching from the house they rented for the grand-anthros, five of whom were not able to come because of an emergency with their mamma in Rome, but on Thursday, mama’s stepgrandanthro and then Friday the mamma of stepgrandanthro (papa’s daughter) will be here so we will be in four for a few days after almost two years!
Now, moving on to a very IMPORTANT item. Today is the anniversary of Elvis’s death, and last night mama and papa watched the film by Baz Luhrman, “Elvis”, WHICH IS SPECTACULAR!!!! Run, do not walk, to see it. The actor is magnificent, just magnificent! AND has a voice.
It’s showing on Apple TV, for rent, and expensive, but oh, it is worth every penny.
Let us know how you liked it if you see it, as we are really eager to hear your views. And then we opened The Cat On My Head and there was Graceland and its rooms, all through the blog! Wonderful.
Now THEY are walking around the house singing, You Ain’t Nothin’ But A Hound Dog, and frankly, I could be offended, but I’m not, because they are also singing Love Me Tender…so that makes up for it.
I hope those fireworks weren’t too loud for you, Loulou.
Sound-proof house, this, except for the birdies in the morning.
Your post got me all shook up, Loulou – love Elvis! So happy that you’re spending time with your wonderful family.
Oh, that grand-anthro, Lisa, will spoil me rotten!
ALL is well with this!!! A very coool cat!!!
I hope you two will see “ELVIS”….spectacular.
I hope you’re able to enjoy the fireworks without the noise bothering you Loulou…..My Mom’s sister was a big Elvis fan back in the 50s….she “forced” my Mom to learn how to jitterbug to Elvis records! I hope you enjoy your company since you haven’t seen them for a long time. PARTY TIME!
Hugs, Teddy
OOOH…mama would LOVE to jitterbug and papa, too. He has his own version but he is GOOD!!! There used to be contests when mama was younger…
Oh no, not fireworks! Hey, our Mom and Dad had tickets to an Elvis concert but he up and died. They would have loved to have seen him.
OH THAT IS A TERRIBLE HAPPENING!!!! But when you see this film, you will know even more about this incredible man, this sweet person whose face is so charming and lovely when he smiles. We read that he was very kind to others. He once tipped a limo driver with the LIMO!!!
I am glad your peeps will get to see some of their family…but we sure hope the fireworks will maybe be cancelled…not to pour water on them or anything, but then you and many others won’t have to endure all the scary noises.
And I know your peeps sing the love you tenderly song every time they help you get your medicines or yummy noms!
It’s true, and they LOVE ME TENDER all day long. I am so spoiled. Our house did not hear the booms but mama and papa went up on a nearby terrace and saw it all. It will be in the blog today I hope if mama can put in a video!
I want to rent the Elvia movie and have my mom over to watch it. She was a big Elvis fan when I was a kid. I hope your folks have a nice visit with family. XO
You are not going to believe this film. AMAZING. The same director did other wonderful films. Totally unique. Thank you, we will have a nice visit.
Well, LouLou you must admit Elvis was a VERY cool cat !
Good luck with teh fireworks…over the ocean sounds safer than over the dry land.
They were very safe and yes, ELVIS, OMG…what an incredible entertainer. But sad…
