Well, not exactly–more like burned freezer.

But in that seared atelier you saw on the previous post, there just happened to have been mama’s little freezer where she kept all of her summer tomato sauces, frozen mangos for ice cream and things like…well, plum puddings for December and leftover osso buco from a few dinners ago that would go into the next one for flavour.  Not to mention the shrimp broth for a future soupe de poisson; or the puff pastry; or the nice new box of papa’s favorite Magnum Bars.  Oh, boy.

Guess what?  It was an ELECTRICAL fire! Guess what?  There was NO ELECTRICITY TO THE LITTLE FREEZER.  Guess what un-freezes when there is no juice to the freezer?

Yep–everything.  EXCEPT the osso buco and all the tomato sauces, thanks to all the freezer fairies everywhere who watch over such things.  Thank you, thank you.  Mama and papa had bowls of what papa calls “hollow bone” tonight and guess who got to lick the plate?  Mama stirred up a little risotto with saffron and things started looking better.

But boy, was it a shock to find the light off on the freezer!

If I hadn’t noticed it and reminded mama and papa that you really need current to make an appliance run properly, they might never have seen the almost-disaster.

Well, that’s what kitties are for–prowling around the house and making sure everything is on the up and up and then making attempts to catch the attention of anthros who are probably ASLEEP or something!

Well, I saved the day.

And mama gave me one of those funny crackers that are shaped like little fish to make us kitties think we are eating an actual fish.

Dumb, I am not.

Hey, I keep my eyes wide open all the time…haha.
