It’s Friendship Friday, a great idea from The Cat On My Head.
Make new friends, la la, but keee-eeep the old. One is silver and the other gold! 🎶
A song that mama loves from her childhood and so true! But now I think mama thinks that all good friends are golden and that talking about this strange situation with them is more than helpful.
Mama says it keeps her sane to chat with family and friends and be teary together at times and then to laugh and smile at silly things, OR very important things like the recent interview with the governor of Alabama! What a great lady, a real mensch, in mama’s view. We can’t find the wonderful interview in which she lambasted the anti-vac anthros who are holding up the elimination of this terrible virus but this is a quote from her other interview:
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) declared that it’s “time to start blaming the unvaccinated” for the surge in coronavirus infections in her state.
The governor, visibly exasperated while discussing the need to get a COVID-19 vaccination shot, was asked by local reporters Thursday what more can be done to boost vaccination rates.
“I don’t know, you tell me!” Ivey said. “Folks supposed to have common sense.”
Sometimes I get (as do mama and papa) a little overwhelmed by the news that we are having surges in the number of cases in certain parts of the world, namely ours in France.
I just have to rely on the very best mentally calming device there is…
Delighted to meet you Lou Lou – hope you’ll join us for Inspire Me Monday! 🙂
Oh, sounds right up our alleys, or down them, whatever that means. We will be there! Joy is one of our favorite words.
Dad remembers that song and we like it Loulou! Great photo of friends too
It was an interesting Friendship Friday for the mom. An old friend that she worked with over 40 years ago reached out to her on Facebook. They hadn’t been in touch for that long. The mom said it was a blast from the past. ~Ernie
Wonderful! Such a good, positive idea and it’s nice that it paid off so well.
Well, we saw on our dog walk last nght planes coming in every 5 MINUTES. So scary – some of the hotels still aren’t open – but Air B&Bs – we will leave for Italy next weekend – and then come to YOUR area and stay at Villelongue des Monts – can we see each other? Mamma will write or call later. We MISS YOU THREE!!!!!
We shall plan. We are isolated AGAIN thanks to the unmasked tourists who roam our streets. I’m glad I’m a garden kitty….but we have HUNDREDS of cherry tomatoes for YOU, Mya.
My hubby and I have our vaccines and we still wear masks. XO
And you will get a booster, too, I hope, Ellen. Yes, we do all those things but the tourists are hard to avoid when they are coughing and smoking and yakking without masks….arggggh.
Naps are wonderful ! Good choice LouLou !
Yes, mama and papa feel that way, too!
Yes Loulou, keep the calm going on, it’s mighty important!
Well, it’s a good four-letter word, right?
Loulou, I often suggest to The Hubby that watching the TV news is going to melt his brain!
I cannot watch any of it anymore, and I only do the sudoku and crossword puzzles in the newspaper, and ignore everything else.
Will you kindly tell Sweetie that if she allowed me to sleep through the night, she might get more mileage out of me?
Thank you!
Oh, you are so, so smart to NOT do all those news things. Mama is trying, really trying and frankly, I think she’s succeeding. Tomorrow she is going to unsubscribe to all those newsletters that are foisted on her, whatever that means.
Oh I agree that IS the best mentally calming device….a snuggly spot for a snooze when you can shut out the world for a little while and DREAM that everything is RIGHT.
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, for that day!
