Wow, think of all the other things you could add…NIP, for one, and maybe…uh…nip?
Well, mama just thought up a new tip today for making crumbs for your cooking pleasure.
Mama had a large bag of walnuts in the freezer, and she roasted them in the oven: spray with a very light spray of water, and light salt and a pinch or two of sugar and mix well in the roasting pan. Roast at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until a nice crispy texture and color.
For the crumbs: In whatever machine you make your crumbs, place the toasted bread or crackers or even store-bought crumbs and add a handful of cooled, toasted walnuts and whiz them up into the crumbs. DEE-licious little snap to recipes for which you use crumbs.
So that’s our suggestion for today. Oh, and you can add fresh toasted garlic clove to bread crumbs if you are making them from scratch. Just throw it into the whizzer with the toasted bread and voila
Be well and safe and put bad thoughts into the nearest virtual TRASH CAN…in France, it’s the poubelle.
LOVE that word. Poo bell! Sounds appropriate, non? Maybe not the belle part…
PS – You will find an apple tart on mama’s Substack today. Tarte Tatin.
Yum – what a handy tip!!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Well it gives a dish a zip!
They look delicious, sweet Angel LouLou. How about adding some dark chocolate to it…*licks paws* …not that we’re allowed to eat it, but it sounds good, huh😸😸Thanks for the good idea! Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you and your mommy too🐾😽💞
Wow, dark chocolate in crumbs! Maybe on ice cream or flan, not sure about that on a bean soup, haha.
What a delightful idea! Thank you.
De rien. Mama love to think up things. Here’s another one: to add potato to soup that’s ready to eat but need potato, microwave a potato and cut it into little squares. 5 minute addition to a soup!
That is a great idea. My hubby has a lot of black walnuts he needs to shell. It is a big project with a special nutcracker. XO
Your hubby is a saint to do all those walnuts! Mama loves them but would rather they be cracked and picked, haha.
Sounds tasty ! Now I have to Google Translate “poubelle”.
Garbage…that’s poubelle. Throw bad thoughts in the garbage can.
Such yummy crumbs, we like lots!
They were hard not to eat with a spoon!
Lynn eats a few walnuts evfurry day, but not like this. She says this is purrfect fur winter cooking. Precious
Well, walnuts are REALLY important for female anthros, that’s a fact. Good for her.
