Hey, I’m doin’ my part to make these plants healthy and beautiful, right?
A sweet corner of the garden with a volunteer nasturtium.
Our bee-attraction…sage that blooms like crazy, year after year.
Lettuce have salad, haha.
And there was salad!
Mama’s Sweet Love, grown from a cutting. Her first ever but now that she knows it works, watch out, garden!
I’m coming in for a nap, mama. That was exhausting…
your garden looks lovely and the lettuce looks delicious!
The lettuce was a surprise for mama. She went out there last fall and threw seeds everywhere over her shoulder. Lazy mama. All that lettuce came up!!!
You’re taking great care of your garden, Loulou.
Yes, well, I “water” it regularly.
Wow your garden is amazeballs, Loulou! Your mama has green fingers.
Merci, but things grow here so easiy…lavender, roses, lettuce…and more. Mama is planted sweet little yellow peppers, chioggia beets (red and white inside), coriander, lots of things. But things grow really well in SA!!!
That was exhausting! We went to Menton yeserday and I walked and walked – gave me energy!!! So I came back home and played with my toys!!!
Wow, a real trip. Someday….
Your garden is beautiful and very productive! Thanks for sharing it with us…got any good dressing for your salad??
Mama makes her own vinegar from a 100-year-old mother so the vinegar is really good. Her salads are simple: extra virgin olive oil, a little Dijon mustard, vinegar, salt. That’s it. Then she loves grilled crushed almonds and crumbledd feta cheese sometimes. But plain is best if the two ingredients are good. I wish we could send you vinegar. We have bottles of it!!! With the mother inside.
I make a dressing very similar to that, but I add some crushed garlic, and I use mostly balsamic vinegar. (I find ACV a bit too sweet.)
When our boys were younger living still at home, they never wanted any other ‘store’ ones. I always take it to potlucks, too.
Yes we use a crushed garlic in the mix, mama forgot to mention that, but I wish you could taste her vinegar, as it is almost nutty! From Sicily over decades ago….a neighbor gave mama the mother from his grandmother and that was in the 70s.
We love the raw vinegar, and it has many health benefits, too. We just put it in some water and drink it, LOL!
Yes and it’s great for a few sips if you think you are getting something. Knocks it right out.
Whoa, Loulou, that is some lettuce crop!
I’d probably sit outside, pick leaves, and eat ’em just like that.
YES, mama does that, too. Also with the wild arugula and radishes. She loves eating out of the garden! Wish the cherry tomatoes were here…
Wow ! What a great garden already LouLou ! Little Binky shows off her garden today and she has a new lemon tree. Maybe you and Mama can give her some tips leading to limoncello (or however you spell it)
Well, that’s how you spell it! Now to drink it! I’ll send her the recipe gladly.
You’ve sure been working hard on that beautiful garden Loulou!
Yes, well, it does require fertilizer….
such beautiful photos of your verdant garden and I fondly remember your Mama’s vegetable garden in Santa Barbara – I think we planted way too many beans one year but maybe not. That time of our lives was quite a few years ago.
Haha, mama says it seems like yesterday and oh, how she loved living next door to YOU. Heaven….
Thank you for the tour. Everything is beautiful-especially you. XO
