NO, NOT to buy a fat pig, haha…
Well, I just had to snap a pic of mama’s new shopping cart, which she finally found after searching a gazillion websites. It was not easy because she wanted a small six-wheeler! And pretty besides, which this is. It is also plastic oil cloth, like those tablecloths that mama’s grandma and mama had long ago but easy to clean!
Mama met an artist who painted on the bottom side of those oiled cloths and so the back of his canvases were the top side with bright designs–fruit, vegetables, plaids, stripes. Do you remember those oil cloths, mama wonders? Not so easy to find now…
Aren’t markets nice? You meet friends, maybe have a coffee (our Cafe Sola is open again after the owner, Laurent, returned from his winter closing), and discover that our sweet Philipino olive seller is back, too, from a ski trip, and the amazing artist, Olivier, who sells his original designs on teeshirts has set up his stand once more so that mama can buy a tiny tee for the Pilates teacher’s first bebe, Talma Rose. Nice name, no?
Yes, markets are the pulse of our little village and two bright spots in mama’s week, along with all the other bright spots I give her all day long, haha. Right now, however, I’m worn out from reading the Sunday magazine that mama brings home for me to peruse, whatever that means. I don’t ask, I just DO it, haha.
It is joyous when the harbingers of spring come out of hibernation–and that includes market traders, MOL
A lovely basket on wheels–maybe your staff could get a bicycle too, to pull said basket and thus relieve your staff of the strain?

Oh, I would probably be a basket case after going out to market, haha.
Wow – mama says that’s the prettiest cart she’s seen!! It’s hard to find the 6-wheel ones these days, but they can come in handy if you have steps. Mama’s literally came apart (after 16 years) and she bought a new one – bright colors, but just a 2 wheeler. But no market day yesterday – we went back to the Westminster and mama had a spritz at noon! I ran up the steps – but where were you guys?! GEEZ – we miss your anthros – and YOU, Loulou!
Oh, Mya, maybe your mama needs the 6-wheeler……
My mama certainly needs the spritz, haha.
LOL – if she has a spritz first she takes the elevator!
Wow, mama forgot that you have that great elevator. Oh, well, next time…
We don’t have the nice outdoor markets like they have in Europe. We feel deprived.
I definitely remember oilcloth – and linoleum !
Oh, mama could make a list…rag curlers, mustard plasters, snow cones….ad nauseum.
