Mama and guess who?
Well, mama is child-free, but she does have ME. That’s saying something. So here’s a picture of mama and me—we don’t have many, I just realized, which means that papa needs to get in here and take some shots. I just hope that all mothers out there are as good to their kids as the mamas I know who have kitties and take such good care of them.
I can tell by comments from Jan’s Funny Farm and Island Cats and Everycat and Moggiepurrs that there are some really hot mamas among that group! They have so much FUN. Mama says that her mama was a doozy—she told jokes and made up stories and games when mama was little, and she had such a sense of humor, sometimes tickling herself with her comments so that she laughed and laughed. Mama remembers that as one of the things she loved so about her mama.
And mama says that a day doesn’t go by that she doesn’t think of her mama and all the things she learned from her—cooking and sewing and reading lots and lots of books at all times and having a sense of humor when you’re blue and so much more. Mama’s mama was a problem solver, which was passed on, I think, in her genes to my mama. Mama’s mama was also full of the devil, as people used to say. She had a little naughty part of her that loved to play jokes on her kids and then laugh with them.
One day mama’s brother was bothering his mama in the kitchen and whining and really being a pest because he wanted something to eat and it was just before dinner and so mama’s mama gave him a tiny jalapeña to chew on. She warned him but he wanted it anyway and so she gave it to him, and of course, mama’s brother, being the cool dude he was at age 6, ate the whole thing and loved Mexican food all his life! So sometimes the tables were turned.
Still, it’s great to have had such a hot mama. I just wish she were around now, except that the really bad thing is that she was allergic to ragweed and pollen and things.
AND CATS…
Uh, oh. Well, happy mama’s day anyway to kitty lovers everywhere, allergic or not.
I’m picking these flowers for mama…but there’s a bee in there, I think!
Thanks for the shout out. We are having a good laugh at the idea of Jan being called a hot mama. What a hoot. 🙂
It’s nice to see a picture of you two together. You both posed so pretty.
Well, you never know when a hot mama lurks under a shy exterior…Thank you for the compliments. Of course, isn’t it true that most kitties are pretty photogenic? Must run in their blood….
Oops! a day late here. I hope your Mama had a wonderful day Loulou, how could she not with you there?
That’s a nice picture of you both. Being child free is cool as it allows the apes to attend to us without distraction. Hurray!
Luff Mungo xx
Oh, I’m always off by whatever hours because I’m all over the place it seems. But thank you for the compliment. And yes, mama had a really nice Kitty Day, I mean Mamma’s Day.
Hey, thanks for the shout-out! Happy Mother’s Day to you, too. We at Moggiepurrs had a quiet one.
Quiet here, too. But lots of greetings to mamas out there took most of my time.
