“Well, I am overwhelmed (sniff sniff) and I want to thank you all, the writer, the director, the costume people, the hairdressers, the makeup masters, the catering company, the drivers, the camera anthros, for helping me get to where I am today, wherever that is, and thanks to all the anthros I have left out because I can’t remember their names and…Hmmm, there’s someone I’m missing. Oh, yes, THOSE TWO–my mama and papa and all my feral friends who sacrificed so much to get me where I am today“….I think I need a new acceptance speech writer. This is really drek.
Well, mama missed the Oscars at 3am, our time, but she did catch all the results the next morn while I was still snoozing. I think I want to see Coco, for sure.
Other than that, let us say that they were, in two short words, politically correct. And of course, Harvey W. got his, whoever this Harvey is.
I think we kitties and doggies should have something like Oscars, maybe we could call them Fidos or Felines or for all animals, Faunas!!
If you ask me, elephants would most likely win, hands down.
I don’t know why I said that but for me, elephants rock! They never forget ANYTHING, and they work together for the good of the herd, and they adore their young, and they fight for what’s right (stomping on poachers, for example) and…well…they are just Elegant Elephants, with capital Es.
Mama says she loved the Oscars when they were more light-hearted, when Billy Crystal, whoever that is, made funnies, and when dressing up was a bit more of an art. Still, Oscars are Oscars and there will be another one in a year. And they are a hallowed event for many.
Maybe I’ll be invited, haha. I’m already in a tux.
Mama, make sure I am ready for the cameras, okay?
We’ve never watched the oscars or anythin’ else that has to do with honorin’ regular peeps who got lucky and too big fur their britches and make enuff to feed a city just fur bad behavior and bein’ rude to the regular peeps who didn’t get lucky. Mommy never had a crush on any “star” or singer. She never hung posters or joined fan clubs and says she can’t figger out why other peeps do. We think your idea fur a kitty oscar is great LouLou and as always, we luv your foto. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Well, you, Dezi and Raena Belle, would be FIRST in line for Oscars if I have anything to do with it. And you two don’t even ‘ACT’….You’re just great kitties without even trying.
I think Hollywood doesn’t know about you, otherwise, they would have already offered such an elegant cat the leading role, and I’ll come to watch your films, while enjoying a bag of popcorn 🙂
YES, popcorn for all. I’m working on a new part right now but learning lines is NOT my strongest suit.
I just love popcorn, and I’ll bring enough for everybody.
Don’t worry about learning lines not being your strongest suit, as I’m sure you have many other wonderful characteristics that will send people to watch you on the big screen 🙂
Maybe I’ll only have to meow. No line at all. I think I can manage that.
I’m sure you will manage that without any problems.
It will be the nicest sounding meow that’s ever been heard on the big screen 🙂
Well, I had better start practicing! Nice to have a fan…
The mom watched the Oscars…she always does. But she says they’re getting too political. Let’s stick to the fun stuff and criticizing what people are wearing. 😉
Yes, we all agree, and I always have on my tux, haha.
I see eye to eye with you on this.
You ARE camera ready – and already wearing your tux!! And maybe next year, the oscars will be funny and light again – they could take a cue from the night time comedians and use a bit of searing humor. Well, mama didn’t see the EVENT either, but read the winner’s list first thing. And neither of our names were on it – can you imagine? Maybe they just don’t have the appropriate category. Mama tells me all the time I’m a drama queen……
Oh, Mya, I think you should be Mya of Ceremony on the Oscars. You could bark out some good jokes for sure and I know watchers would LOVE to see you shake that octopus!
You are always camera ready. XO
Like Mya, a drama queen….
There is some kind of award for animals in movies (or maybe it’s for TV) but of course I can’t remember the name of them. but to get nominated you would have to be in a movie – maybe you and Mya could work on one together ? Like the spaghetti scene from “Lady and the Tramp” ?
Hey, great idea. And I LOVE PASTA.
