MAMA, stop taking my pic, I want to get down and EAT!
Well, THEY finally picked me up to take me back where I belong, complete with a wrist bracelet that doesn’t come off easily. I think it’s supposed to stay there for the next tortuou…er…visit to be tested.
Next Tuesday.
AND…there is a new drug for kitties with arthritis called Solensia that is supposed to help the pain enormously so that we kitties can once again jump up on beds and laps and things the way we used to…
The bump in my back was evidently caused by muscles tightening up to deal with pain, jeez, who knew?
We kitties do not let on about our aches and pains, which means we walk around hurting and no one knows.
My question is: If this miracle drug blocks pain receptors naturally, and the worn down cartilege is still being worn down, but with no pain, doesn’t that mean that one day we will feel pretty awful when no cartilege is left?
Look, let’s table that one.
I’M HOME, and that’s that for now. And I’m receiving less insulin and that’s a plus. Just have to pee into a cup for a dipstick…uh…let’s change the subject…
Meanwhile, I am thankful for you all and the good vibes you sent to me while I was in priso…at my nice new vet. MERCI!!!
After I have a little rest, LET’S PARTY!!!
you sweet baby!!! Tell Mama not to think of bad things! The main thing is it is being managed, and hopefully you are feeling much better! Thank COD that lump wasn’t something else!! xoxo
Oh, you are right. Better to have a little muscle distortion…thank you for your support.
I’m glad you’re home, Loulou, and I hope this new drug helps you. The mom is going to ask about it when I go to the vet next week. ~Ernie
Well, I have bee jabbed so we’ll see. It takes awhile to kick in, but I’ll have another next month and it’s supposed to change my life!
That’s a super photo of your Papa carrying you Loulou – I know he and your Mama missed you A LOT while you were incarcerated! Nice that you need less insulin – AND that they figured out you were hurting and maybe THAT meant you didn’t want to eat much. Well, sounds like maybe you are BETTER now – we hope so.
Hugs, Teddy
Evidently if a kitty is arthritic and hurting, he or she will pee outside the box because of difficulty getting in easily. So maybe that will clear up, too. I NEVER peed outside a box until lately and I never quite hurt this much until lately so we’ll see how the jab goes. I was jabbed today one hour ago!!!
Awww, Loulou, what a sweet pic with your papa. I hope all those aches and pains ease soon.
Today I have my shot and we’ll see….thank you.
I have to go to the vet – !!! BUT you mke me scared!! But I’ve gotten scared – afraid they’ll find diabetes!! I’m a bit fat!!
Just manage your diet, you sweet doggy. It’s not so painful, but I was never a eat-all-day-long-whatever-is-there kind of kitty. I was a very minimal-eating kitty but so picky. I think mama tried out things and was a bit abundant in the dish. But I never have treats, for example, snacks in anthro talk. I had only little pieces of salmon or a tiny bit of mozzarella and not often. Mostly, I did not EXCERCISE!!!!
WHEW!!!!! I’m relieved!!!
Yes, it was an ordeal and I’m shaved in two places…so embarrassing but it’s already growing back.
I sure am glad you are back home Loulou and I hope the much better shows up soon, you deserve to feel better. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh, we wouldn’t miss that for the world and merci, I’m getting better and will have a magical shot next week.
I am so happy that you are home and doing well. I am also glad you can get something for your arthritis pain. XO
Yes, it’s supposed to be really a breakthough for kitty-arthritis and make life happier.
LouLou, less insulin and the bump being a tight muscle is goodn news ! Those hospital bracelets are a bear to get off even if you have thumbs – especially when they put them on your right wrist and you have to try to snip them off left-handed (even when you have thumbs).
So more tests ? We will keep the purrayers and Power of the Paw coming.
OH thank you. P of the P, now I know what that is, duh…I’ll keep you posted and yes, that tape is a mess to get off!
mum sez she needz sum ov dat arthritis medicinez, oh nice bracelet
I will report for sure and papa says if it helps the pain and I can have a better life longer, just get the shot and see what it does. It might help you a lot!
We hope the medication makes you feel better.
Oh, me, too! And I’ll report after being the guinea pig, haha. Thanks for your visit.
I’m glad you’re home where you belong. I’m glad you have some medicine that will help with your pain. Yes you’re still wearing out the cartilage. I’m old so trust me on this. Bugger on it too.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday, Loulou. My best to your peeps. ♥
Well, papa feels that managing the pain is foremost and to hell with the hindmost, haha. At least some years with no pain would be SO wonderful….
SO glad you are back at home, LouLou!
That new arthritis drug, well I haven’t heard of that yet. Wonder if its good for dogs as well? I shall have to do some research.
Senior furry ones and the human ones, too; sure cannot be sissies!
Hang in there LouLou! You are loved and that is thhe best of anything at any age!
Boy, did you nail that one! LOVE is the best medicine of all, but this Solensia promises to help a lot if it works on me. The only side effects are the usual, maybe vomiting, diarhia etc but the vet used it on his kitty and there were no side effects at all, just new energy! I always love the very educational thoughts of commenters and thank you!
Thanks for that article…though that is not yet here in the USA…I’ll ask my vet about that when I next go there, i might need it in the future…our pups are youngish yet, so not an issue right now. But it sure was for our MJF and some of our senior cats, esp Pipo.
Hope it helps many kitties and doggies, this miracle drug.
It is available in the US but many vets aren’t familiar with it yet and therefore, aren’t prescribing it.
Ah, makes sense. I will report, after having been jabbed ONE HOUR AGO!!!
Good to know, thank you!
You are more than welcome.
