WHEN DO WE GET OFF THIS THING?
That’s what I’m going to ask you to have today–just imagine me sliding across the sea, dressed in my little sailor suit, my black and white streaked fur blowing in the soft salt breeze, my paws on the porthole sill as I gaze at the setting sun (this, after supping at the Captain’s Table on caviar and smoked salmon with a nice little crisp white in a crystal glass). Just imagine!
REALITY:
Late for the boat, shaky drive TO the city where the boat is, hustled into the cabin and deposited still in my cage while mama prepares the bowl of little in the john and prays I don’t throw up before we all cry “Land, ho!”
Then 45 minutes AGAIN in the traveling apartment and FINALLY, dying to pee, the familiar smells of the neighbourhood where we stay and a nice little bowl of kibble in the kitchen while THEY go downstairs to a little trattoria and collapse!!!
Hey, it’s only 48 hours out of my life, right? At least, that’s what they TELL me. What do I know, I’ve NEVER worn a watch, whatever that is.
So, all in all, I think we did okay.
Uh, oh, I just saw in mama’s bag that she brought a HUGE bag of NIP!!! Now that’s what I call smart packing!
YAY, now I’m really kicking up my heels.
That nip should make up for all you’ve been through, Loulou.
Oh, boy, and did mama bring A LOT of that!!!
Yee-ha! NIP!!!!! And I heard you did your Maria Callas imitation all the way to Barcelona with arias on the bateau as well. Well, it’s a small price to pay for a stay in Rome, where you’ll be cuddled and spoiled by friends and family. Now that you’re on dry land – ENJOY!!
Oh, Mya, we could have really stirred up the pot on that ship. Do you get seasick, too? The thing is, I recover in about a New York minute…taking over the kitchen, munching my treat, exploring everywhere, but now THEY are waiting for…er…normality. He understands who understands……
I have no idea!! The only boat trip I’ve taken was a 5 minute jaunt in a motorboat to Isola San Giulio (Lake Orta) – that was fun. But it was short. Not sure about a REAL boat trip. Maybe one day we’ll do that one together – ?! Wow – Nip and Kibbles would be waiting, for sure, non?!
They’ll either be waiting or … coming up, haha.
Glad your mama packed the important stuff.
Oh, I made sure of that! Fresh nip in a zip bag, Party TIme, you name it.
Does this mean you have arrived at your destination? Safely! We sure hope all is well. No vomiting, no other problems, just rest tonight.
Mama was only up twice, okay, three times last night…a little vomiting, a few howls and then the whole day in a closet, safe and dark, and then NO problem in car driving to Roma, and now sitting on mama’s bed with her arms around me as she helps me compase….Fortunately, we kitties have short memories.
Hurrah for Mama !
Well, she DID help me out last night, that’s for sure. I simply am NOT a boat kitty.
Wow it sounds like you had a real adventure! Did you sees any fishies out there on the boat?
Love Laser & McLaren
No fishies…surely they were out there, but I was curled in a closet waiting for it all to be OVER. It is. Hurrah!
