WHO’S THAT TALL MAN AT THE DOOR?
Oh, I am so lucky. Our favourite fix-it man showed up a few minutes ago with a box of instruments and now there are sweet sounds coming out of our (should-be-used-more-often) piano that mama really DOES play and loves no end, but she had better get her fingers in gear pretty soon or I’m buying a tuba and starting to practice NOW.
She does tickle the ivories, whatever that means, (mistakes, mistakes, mistakes–lordy, lordy, my little ears are twitching) but NOT ENOUGH, MAMA.
How do you think you’re going to get better if you don’t practice, huh?
She says that to ME all the time when I’m trying to kill my crazy feather-friend on the end of a fishing pole so I’m saying it back to HER!
PRACTICE MAKES PURRING, right? Or whatever.
So today I will kick back and listen to a MASTER TUNER who does NOT make mistakes when HE plays. Mama always wants him to cut loose at the end of the tuneup because he used to play professionally and it’s really amazing, but he is shy about playing, who knows why? I think that anthros who are born with any talent at all and a fairly good ear really should hone it, whatever it takes. The talent, that is, not their ears, haha.
SO if I have to twitch, I guess I’ll twitch.
Maybe in time to mama’s wrong notes, haha.
Well, ready for Rachmaninoff! And a one, and a two…HIT IT, MAMA!

Oh, how sad we are for Sarge and his family! Hugs to you all and memories of happiness with this loving doggy.
Please drop by Sarge’s blog and give another hug.
Maybe you should start playing, Loulou, like Nora the piano-playing cat.
Oh, I love Nora, but I’m just not talented. I like to sit on the bench and imagine myself in concert halla. That’s about it.
Oooh, we know Sarge will be missed. He looks like such a sweetie – with big personality. So sorry.
Loulou – I think you should take up piano when mama’s not around. And your mama plays beautifully – but like mine, should play MORE. My papa did a good thing when he gave mama a piano for Christmas a few years ago after YEARS of not playing – it has earphones – and unless they’re unplugged, nobody hears the horrid noises – oops, music – that comes out! Maybe we could learn Chopsticks together?! on mama’s piano with the headphone, to start, huh?
Hey, chopsticks! Do we get kung pao chicken if we practice?
How pawsum LouLou. We totally agree ’bout mommy’s that don’t play offen enuff. We luv to hear mommy play, but we don’t have anythin’ as nice as yours. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
YES, but your mama has a VOICE big as the world!!!
How neat your mom plays piano. We didn’t know a (once) professional musician could be shy about playing.
Oh, he gave it up. There must be a story there. But when anthros feel they are not good enough, well, they get a little weird. Too bad that happens. He plays beautifully.
Your Mama is a person of many talents ! Hope your piano tuner gave a small recital – just for the 3 of you. Maybe your presence intimidated him ? Or he thought you’d be disappointed that he wasn’t a piano TUNA ?
HAHA that was a GOOD one, Mary. You make us laugh.
Sorry about the loss of your dog furr-iend, Loulou. Hugs to you & his family.
Wow, you’re momma is a paint artist and she can play the piano too? She is multi-talented. But I’m suspecting that you are a concert pianist yourself. My humans have no musical talent. Purrs!
Uh, “play the piano” is stretching it a bit…
