MAMA- what on earth are you using to wrap those gifts?
Well, it’s that time again and mama is in there on the dining room table wrapping up prezzies for the grandanthros and others but I see that she is in a quandary–none of her wrapping papers match and none of them says HOLIDAYS and so I think she’s going to be wrapping gifts in dinosaur paper, which is all she has right now along with some others that are definitely NOT holiday wrappings!
Mama, that’s not very Christmasy! Maybe draw a bow on the dinosaurs? Or sprinkle some glitter over their horns and tails? Oy…I think mama needs a trip to the paper store to get proper wrapping paper.
Do you have a paper stash of all the papers you’ve used in the past and find that at Christmas, they aren’t really appropriate? Uh, oh, she’s wrapping up a sweater for her daughter-in-law in SOCCER PAPER that she used for the little grandanthro’s birthday last year! And now she’s wrapping a pretty snazzy glasses case for papa’s ex in paper that says Happy Easter and has bunnies all over it…oh, boy.
We have go to get our act together around here…
OH, NO, mama is scraping the bottom of the barrel–she’s using BUTCHER PAPER to wrap up a baby gift. Mama, that paper has HAMBURGER on it!
This won’t do at ALL.
Mama, hey, spring for some up to date paper, okay. These are from 2014!!!
Well, I have my own stash and mama is NOT getting into THAT! I have a lot of prezzies to wrap.
I think.
your Mama is so much like my Mama!! My Mama just found TONS of baby wrapping paper (that she doesn’t need)….and NO holiday paper!! She often will use tissue paper instead and that is super lazy!
Oh, we use the tissue trick, too. Just don’t want mama EVER to scrape the bottom of the barrel and use paper towels or that OTHER paper, haha.
LOL – mama said she wrapped christmas gifts once with newspaper and put fancy red bows on them – but papa would freak out over that!! I think butcher paper with bits of hamburger would be just perfect! Loulou, you could request your wrapping to be from the fish market! Preferably with a fish inside…….
Hey, now you’re talkin’…er barkin’…
What would I do without conniving friends like you, Mya,haha. And mama can wrap YOUR prezzy in buthcher paper with the hamburger still inside, haha.
Oh LouLou, mommy used to use foil and grocery store bags. ‘Course, that’s back when she worked and bought prezzies and stores used paper bags. MOL By the way, we wanna say a meowsy big fank you to awnty Suzanne, uncle Don and you of course, fur the turkey tom lurkey. OMC We can still taste him from last year. We really can’t fank ya’ll enuff. And by the way, we’re helpin’ mommy get some recordings put together of some country and gospel and a few Christmas too. We hope to get those posted by the end of the week. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
You are very welcome and we love your voice at Christmas so we’ll be waiting for the consert!
I think it would be fun to get a gift for Christmas wrapped in Easter paper. 🙂
Me, too, Ellen, and I think mama would love that, which is why she goofs sometimes. On purpose. Makes a good story….
Loulou, your mama is funny! Your description of her wrapping gifts made us laugh. Just think of how entertained the recipients will be thinking of how special they are to get distinctively wrapped gifts.
Well, I thought that Mya’s mama using newspaper and big red bows was pretty sage, too. Are newspapers still around, haha?
You can always use the comics pages from the newspaper for the kiddos. Anyway, it’s what’s inside that counts.
Prayers for whatever is happening in Strasbourg !
Oh, horrors, and our dear friends in Collioure lived in Strasbourg for years and years. I’m glad they are not there now.
