Here’s a high five for Thankful Thursday.
Well, listen up, folks, Jeudi is Thursday around here and we are thankful for YOU, and YOU, and YOU. We are also thankful that papa’s ex, our dear, dear Gabriella, is not too sick with omicron, which she has had for five days now in Rome and the worst effect is that nothing tastes good to her!
Which is hell for a great cook who loves food. Mama and she are always sending WhatsApp photos to one another of their lunch plates, haha! But to lose one’s buds….argggggh.
Mama says that’s one of the most disabling effects of omicron, losing one’s taste and/or smell!
I think mama would go absolutely bonkers if she lost her palate.
But she’d still have her palette, haha!
Big deal, who wants to paint when you can’t eat the still life?
This plastic string doesn’t taste so good either, come to think of it…WHERE’S THE BURGER?
What is her update now? Did she recover? I’m eagerly waiting for your reply.
She is fine now. Merci.
I can’t imagine not being able to taste or smell anything. I mean…what about catnip??!?! Purrs for your peeps’ friend. ~Ernie
Merci from Gabriella. It is very distressing not to taste good things! And she’s a great cook.
Loulou – it seems it won’t be raining today!!! So we will walk! SUNNY AND WARM! Well almost warm. I’ve heard that the new Omicron is less bad than before – so warm wishes to Gabriella – and the taste will come back soon! Hopefully.
Yes, it is milder but we don’t know yet the long-term effects on the body. Still, it’s a ligter case but NO TASTE BUDS Mama would go nuts.
We send purrayers that Gabriella regains her senses – we have read that that is a very nasty side effect. One of those things you think wouldn;t be that big a deal until it happens…just remember the last bad cold you had !
Now that’s a wise observation. I don’t think anthros realize how miserable it can be to have no buds, plus a cough, body aches, etc. Thank you.
I hope she feels better soon and gets her tastes back. XO
Oh, so do we. Mama will talk with her today and merci for your concern.
What are you putting the bitey on Loulou? Hold out for that burger! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
You are welcome, as usual, and that’s a stretchy string I like to pull with mama. NO taste there unless she runs it through the nip.
Lots of healing energy hugs to all ~ Xo
Wishing you lots of laughter in your days,

LOVE your photos and philosophy! Yes, live in the present, leave the past and keep worry out of the future. I think kitties are especially good at that, especially meaning AFTER they have been fed, haha.
I LOVE food, that would be torture to not taste or smell! Hope that burger gets delivered to you soon LouLou – MOL!
We feel the same way and oh, not to taste PASTA with artichokes or fresh fruit or coffee, mama says, haha. Or so many good tastes, but I’ll stick with my cod in gelée. Good enough for me.
I’ve heard this complaint from many.
My mother lost her sense of taste and smell due to an ailment many years ago, which I’ve always thought is a horrendous thing.
Smell the roses, taste the chocolate!
Then again, when I’m scooping litterboxes…
Naw, just joshing…
Ha ha, you are a hoot! We found this flushable stuff, Worlds Best, and it’s not so bac to clean up. But oh, to lose one’s taste is possibly a horror while it lasts. I hope your mama retrieved hers
Get well soon dear
We will pass on your kind wish. Gab is getting better each day but still no taste buds. Arggggh.
Oh we hope Miss Gabriella is well soon – we’ve heard about that losing taste and smell thing and my Mom says that’s got to be just awful. Here’s to QUICK recovery!
Hugs, Teddy
Well, mama won’t send her a photo of poached salmon today that’s for sure. Merci for your get-well and yes, let’s not get it!!!
