Well, here’s the surprise from via della Gatta. For years, mama and papa have walked up and down this street because it’s the way to our apartment and to another shopping area, but they never wondered why the street is called what it is! And clearly they never looked UP!
A 91-year old lady who is the watch-lady (portiere) for an apartment building across the street from the statue showed mama and papa this little gatta yesterday. I forgot to mention that the kitty is guarding a treasure in the the house that no one has ever found!
Voila! A small, very old kitty on the corner of the building that used to house Berlusconi (and friends, haha). I think they should take me over there to see the famous little cat, but alas, I am apartment-bound because of traffic and too many tourists (all of whom are no doubt kitty-nappers and just dying to have a Tuxie, haha).
Well, that’s it.
I think today mama took some lovely photos of a little horse she saw today carved out of marble but so lifelike. And I hate to say this, but I think she’s in love with this darling creature….
Hey, a horse is no competition, plus it’s going to be hard to get it out of the museum an into this house, haha. Photos tomorrow. Even I fell for him when I saw that even his little eyelashes are perfectly made by the incredible sculptor.
Do horsies and kitties get along? I’m pretty sure they do, especially if one is made of marble and can’t bare his tummy for mama to rub…
that is so cool! Wonder what the treasure is?
If Berlusconi couldn’t find it, no one can, haha.
We hear that horses and cats get along just fine LouLou. That is a fine kitty to name a street after. We think the treasure was the cat herself and her wonderful loving purr
Oh, you are so smart, Timmie. Yes, she/he must be the treasure itself.
A winning racehorse…
Are you lolly minded, Loulou ?
Nothing wrong about it, mind you.
And speaking of the lollies Mary Mc Neil just sent a video of huge tigers and cats eating popsicles! I’ll try to pop it in my blog.
Wow – you need a pet horse for the apartment for sure! You could ride on his back or be pulled in a buggy! Mama rollin her eyes. Maybe not. Well, a nice sculpture? Now we know why it was called Via della Gatta! That must have been some cat – surely one of your ancestors. Great Grandma Bunga Bunga?
You are so funny. Grandma Bungo Bungo indeed!
That is a nice statue. I am glad you are safe inside. XO
Maybe you need a pet horse Loulou!
Made me a little smaller than the one mama fell in love with. As you will see…
Um, that cat is missing its ears! 😉
And some other parts too, haha.
Many race horses have a cat (or more than one) in their stable to help keep them calm – and to make sure there are no mice around their feed = or around their feet, which could spook them !
Well I would love to be in the stable of a racehorse and chase mice away. What a great profession! Especially if it’s a winning racehorse and I had just happened to put my bet on it.
