(I hope THEY are bringing out our July 4th menu!!! This is NOT what I ordered, but the duck fat is pretty tasty…)
We wanted to put in a Monday spark that relates to July 4th, to freedom, equality, and being an American. Realizing that some of the most valiant and necessary movements in our country were at the instigation of Lyndon B. Johnson, a Texan, we ask what Texas would feel about him today?
In homage to Lyndon, this is our Monday spark.
You do not EVER have to read anything I decide to put in my blog, but this touched our hearts and mama actually met Lyndon Johnson and shook his hand so many years ago. A great man.
How far have we come since the Civil Rights Act was passed?
A question to ponder.
Meanwhile, papa is reading my left shoulder every few hours. Have you ever heard of anything so silly as READING A SHOULDER?
Reading a mind, maybe, but in that case, he had better stay away from mine with that cell phone – I don’t even want to MENTION what he might find in my little grey cells at this stage of my monitoring…I’ll be glad when this is OVER!
Meanwhile, I’ll shoulder this burden, haha.
PS The sensor is that weird silver thing hidden in my glorious fur but they SHAVED me there to place it. ARGGGGH…..
As uncomfortable as you think it is, Loulou, I hope that button continues to help you.
Well, tomorrow morn my real vet, not the jerk who attached this last one, will help me figure all of this out. I hope. Thank you for your consern, you beautiful kitty.
I hope you feel better soon, Loulou. It’s never great feeling out of sorts. How fantastic that your mama got to meet LBJ. There is still so much change needed. The world is a WIP.
You won’t believe this but those are the FIRST initials I have guessed quickly, haha. Work in progress is our life…but we are doing better at it than the world, I think. Such a good way to put it, merci. Little Loulou is not happy, but her vet will let us know tomorrow how to cheer her up.
Loulou that article by Ms. Cox was really interesting – my Mom remembers LBJ and the circumstances that made him President. We hope that magic button of yours getting read all the time just means your Papa is keeping a close eye on you! Hopefully all of these things lead to you feeling better and better – that’s what we ALL want for you!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, Teddy, we, too, want only that. It is taking lots of time. You do NOT want diabetes in your kitty. Be careful of carbs…
I didn’t write this – somebody is pirating my mail!!!
Why would they talk about a painting in Paris?
That phone is becoming the latest in Paparazzi for you, Loulou! But on the otherhand, we are glad it works well to monitor your sugar levels.
Haha paparazzi is a better way to think about it, merci.
Usually with kitties we read the ears and the tail when we want to know what the kitty is thinking.
LBJ (like Truman and Eisenhower) has come to be more appreciated as time goes by !
He and LadyBird came to The University of Akeron and our human shook hands with Mrs LBJ .
Oh, mama shares that with you. She was at lunch, too. She was a pistol! Hate to use that term but she was dynamite.
Loulou, the shaved place and the gizmo attached is helping to monitor your bloods; it’s better than getting a poke twice a day, no?
And you ENJOY having your papa hovering around you, amIright?
Oh, I get poked, too. This is just a semsor that cam be read all day long. Better than staying at a vet overmight and being tested for the glycemic curve.
Thank you for sharing this spark. I am sorry you have to have your shoulder read LouLou. Happy 4th! XO
Well, maybe something will come up on the reader that helps me get well….
