Well, mama is doing this French course with One On One, which is a really great website with actual teachers who Skype with the the student and get into really intensive hour-long French for only 29 euros per hour. And if you already speak some French, as this kitty does (sort of), it is an energetic boost to one’s knowledge, plus the teach mama has happens to be from Paris and she knows all sorts of places to eat and visit and has lovely tips on being in France and understanding French people as a whole and so one makes a new friend besides improving one’s language skills.
So mama asks me, “Does this ever happen to you, Loulou, that you make an appointment to do something good for yourself (like French lessons) or study for an hour or do anything for an hour that may not be the most wanted thing on your list and then you make yourself DO it (like exercise) and then after it’s over you feel so, so good and you have a sense of accomplishment that’s really quite lovely to feel? You ever do that, Loulou?”
And mama knows full well that kitties don’t do any of that and see no point at all in knocking yourself out at a gym or cleaning the garage or vacuuming the car and so I say, “Yes, yes, mama, I know exactly what you mean and you should be proud of yourself for trying to learn more French!”
But since mama speaks to me in some language I don’t understand at all, it’s all the same to me what she studies—All I hear is “Loulou, blah, blah, blah, Loulou, blah, blah, Loulou, Loulou, blah, blah, blah, blah…” and so on but I like to give mama moral support in her endeavors and so I just say, “Go for it, mama!” And then she goes for it and we’ll all happy.
Especially after it’s OVER and DONE.
Nice glass of vino as a reward, and I get a few teeth crackers for helping.
Be sure to do that with your anthros, kitties, because what on earth would they do without our encouragement, I ask you?
And I am encouraged by all of this to take a nice little nap while mama works out whether she should say, “Faison le trottoir” or “Marcherons dans le trottoir“–I think one means let’s take a walk and the other means street-walking. I hope she figures THAT one out!
We think your mom might be more interested in taking a walk so we hope she figures out the difference. 🙂
I think she finally did, haha. She was probably just funnin’ me…
