PAPA!!!
Well, this afternoon there was a loud, REALLY LOUD, banging on something, a window, a door, a nearby constrution site, something banging and banging and I was, frankly, unable to snooze, and so went to papa and said, “PAPA, SOMETHING IS BANGING AND BANGING AND WILL YOU FIX IT, PLEASE?”
You’ll never guess what it was. Well, not exactly “it”….
The culprit!
IT was MAMA, locked out of the house in the garden! Our garden gate was locked, the door to kitchen was locked and mama couldn’t get through the locked garden door to the front doorbell so there was no way to let papa know she was out there.
I heard her put her fingers together and whistle about a gazillion times, but you can’t hear anything up in papa’s aerie/office, so mama just kept on banging, louder and louder on both French doors with two fists, and finally, papa came to the rescue!
Afterward, mama took a faux pic of herself being locked out because of course she had NO PHONE out there.
She’s that ghostly figure barely visible in the door, haha. Simulated, I think they say, whatever that means.
“I thought you were building something in your makeshift potting shed,” he told mama. Potting shed referring to mama’s office, because it’s about to rain and we MUST get our seeds started somewhere indoors.
Pas de souci, no problem, mama said, even thought I could see she was a bit shaken by all of this, but she came around really fast and lots of hugs were given. Still…
I COULD HAVE STARVED AT DINNERTIME!!!
(Oh, yeah, I forgot, mama would have had nothing to eat but baby radishes for dinner in the garden…and a lemon or two, maybe a little parsley…)
Hey, there was plenty of my cat grass, too! A little oil, a little vinegar…
oh poor Mama!! And…MEN!! Geeze!!!! My husband would probably have not gone and looked too!!
Well, papa did think something was missing in his life, haha, but he thought it was mama building something.
Its no fun being locked out and maybe Mom needs to hide a key outside. Some feel this is risky but… you can always put one under a radish. Who would know?
HAHA, good idea or under the place I do my ablutions, haha.
I’m glad your mama was finally rescued. I once got locked out in the garage for a couple of hours. That was kinda scary.
OH, NO, Ernie. A couple of hours is a LOOOOONG time for a kitty. I think.
That reminds Us of the time OUR Mummy got locked into the guest room on a cold rainy night, without her mobile phone, and without a regular phone in that room and had to shout from the open window until one of the neighbours came out and heard her.
It IS a scary situation.
OMG…poor Mummy. And what if the neighbors had not been home? Wow.
Well it’s tough to be locked out for sure – good thing it wasn’t snowing or raining out there. I’m sure if you’d known it was her you would have rescued her right Loulou?????
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, that’s for sure…I would have put on my snowshoes and parka and been right out there (somehow…the door was locked…hmmm?) being a St Bernard. Whatever that is.
That must have been quite scary for your mom.
Well, she probably would have climbed on the roof and banged on papa’s window, but I don’t want to think about that, haha….
Well, it was still afternoon, haha, so no boogey men .
Oh, she was a trooper, but she was a bit shaken…
OH MY – well that’s another term for LOCKDOWN!!! We are changing every day – now they are saying if things improve it will be shorter. BUT we read the English variation of coronavirus has taken over our area. But if we all get vaccinated – we’ll be much better. Not doggies and kitties – but humans. Loulou, just be glad we’re animals!
Well, our vaccines are efficacious against the UK virus, but not against the South Africa virus. Papa is doing some research on this and will report.
Vacs are good. Not against S Africa strain but we have less than 1% in Europe so far.
Glad she finally got back inside. XO
Well, there was so parsley, too, lots of that.
That must’ve been scary! I have more of a tendency to lock people out of places than to get locked out myself. I lock doors behind me instantaneously!
Well, that is what papa does, too, but he is going to look first next time. It could have been ME!
Wow ! Good thing Papa had you to alert him or he might not have missed Mama til much later – since I think you have mentioned that he can cook a bit himself. Glad it wasn’t pouring rain or freezing. Mama should probably keep her phone with her at all times – in case she falls or something. Purrs that it all turned out ok !
Yes, the phone will definitely be taken next time!
Your poor Mama! That has happened here too! And once Queen Penelope locked Mom AND Dad out of a running truck! (Windows were broken). But the good thing iswinter is OVER!

What a wild comment illustration!! You are talented.
WOW! Mama needs one of those electronic collars to open the door!
Hey, that would be great and she could use the kitty door (if we had one).
oh mi cod, how awful. da mum is always fraid of locking herself owt. i wood starve iffen dat happened.
Ha, ha, maybe you should have a mousie stash somewhere, just in case!!!
