Hot, sweaty, and snoozy, that’s me.
Well, is this all there is? Am I going to have to recline on this couch for the next few weeks just wishing for a garden or somewhere outside to roam? Still, when the temperature is close to 100, who wants to go out gallivanting, I ask you.
So if I am a bit boring every now and then, it’s because of the heat. Have you ever seen those pics of lions in Africa just lounging under trees and swatting flies and purring and looking languid and louche, whatever that is. Actually, I just looked it up and it means disreputable but in an appealing way. Well, that could be me, too, except I am not really that disreputable, but I am languid in this heat and I’m thinking this is about it for action during June and July and August.
Loulou, I know just how you feel.
But…mama and papa are going to visit papa’s son’s family and play with those bad grandkids for a week and guess what I am going to do? STAY PUT. No seasick ferries for me. Not cage-in-a-car for me. No moving me all around until I don’t know which end is up! I am having Mya’s mama kittysit me and I know just how she is going to feel with no Mya here to cuddle and caress, because guess who will be the STAND-IN? Hah. You guessed it. Yours truly will get ALL of the attention that wiggling doggy gets plus any number of treats and snuggles and cuddles and massages of the ears and jaw and rubs on the tummy. WHENEVER I WANT IT. And THAT’S what mama and papa are leaving me behind to enjoy. I wouldn’t be caught dead on a hot beach in Sicily walking over hot pebbles and getting splashed by over-zealous little anthros with…ECH…WATER!
But until then, as in today and a few days from now, I am queen of the couch-kitties, weathering this heat wave with all the snoozing I can muster.
I hope it’s cooler where you are but if not, take it from me. Snoozing is the only solution.
That and an occasional mojito…
Whatever that is.
Guess who mama drew doing what?
Guess who else mama drew doing what?
Oh, Loulou, I did not know that Sicily was so very hot this time of year. We have milder temperatures here at the birthplace of American independence but when it goes above 75 I have the cold air thing on anyhow. You are very smart to stay put with lots of love. I am confused though – didn’t you just go on the ferry thing recently?
Yes, we are in ROME but on the way to Sicily in July to visit papa’s son and little anthros of his. Meanwhile we are in HOT Roma.
Oh LouLou we got da hots here too and we’s doin’ a bunch of nuffin’. MOL Fankfully bein’ kitty’s we like sleepin’ and loungin’ ’round. MOL Glad you have somewhere to stay while your pawrents go off and play with little humans. We hear those things have sticky paws and use them to pull tails. You are very wise to stay put.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
OOH, sticky paws! YES, they do, but I have to admit they are pretty cute paws and they don’t pull tails because they were taught not to. But I am staying here and Mya’s mama is coming to be with me, without Mya, my doggy friend, but that’s okay, if you get my drift….
Oh Loulou – I am SO jealous. Lounging on the sofa – my favorite! Mojitos – my favorite! But on second thought, pop spoils me rotten when mom’s away, so really, THAT’S my favorite. Good luck Loulou, mom is strict on those kibbles – but generous with those caresses!!!!
Harumph…I’ll just bet she’s strict with those mojitos…Are we going to have a ball, or WHAT?
It’s no cooler here. Feel like we’re in a sauna. Not that we’re ever been in one but that’s what Jan keeps saying. Merci won’t even get up to go for her evening walks. You are so lucky to be able to stay home so you don’t have to play on the beach but you will get lots of attention.
Well, attention, yes, if mama wants to get down on her hands and knees (ouch) and get under the bed with me. Still…it is HOT. Sorry you all are hot, too. Make some iced tea.
Have a good time with Mya’s Mama and keep cool. I think the first drawing is you sleeping on the back of the couch. Not sure who the kitty is in the second one.
Oui, you are right but I’m the second one, too. Just turned the other way. Mama is obsessed with drawing me stationary as a black lump. Go figure.
