WOW-I wish I could have seen this one!
Well, these marbles are not exactly ‘lost’ but they are statues that perhaps not everyone gets to see, and this one, mama says, is breathtaking! This lady in the veils is all marble, just imagine, by the amazing sculptor, Antonio Corradini.
Mama just stopped in her tracks and stared for about 5 minutes to take in the amount of time this work must have taken to be so perfect and seem like gossamer.
Whatever that is.
But, what do I know? When I saw the photo mama sent, I have to say I was impressed. The things these anthros do, wow!
So mama said to the little grand-anthros, in Italian, “Credo que quella pesa un grande tonno!” And they both started laughing hysterically and started giving each other that look that little anthros give when they want to be polite but are cracking up over the dumbness of grown-up anthros.
“What”, asked mama, “and why are you guys giggling so that you might fall down any minute?”
They both started chanting “tonno, tonno” and then the elder one explained in English, “Sussu, (that’s mama), you said it weighed a giant TUNA FISH!”
Mama had confused tonno with tonnellata. Hey, or had she…?
Watching little kids laugh is one of her favourite pastimes.
Mine, too.
LoL. That’s pretty cool .
Yes, and she is VERY cool, not to say COLD, haha.
Wow. The detail in that sculpture is amazing. But we’d like to see it unwrapped. 😉
You mean nekked???????? Oh, boy.
That is amazing.
It really is breathtaking.
Sounds as if they are ALL having fun there in Italy. That’s good. Mama and papa will come home in due time relaxed and ready to give you lots and lots of attention.
Oh, yeah? Can they even SPELL ‘HOME’? Well, it’s getting close.
That’s pretty cool. Hey, my Dad lost his marbles years ago and I promise I didn’t take them!
But it’s fun living with those lost marble anthros, no
Not only is that an incredible sculpture, LouLou, but it’s a little eerie, too. Why is she so wrapped up ? Was it a real windy day ?
Well, if it was windy, she ain’t goin’ nowhere, nohow.
