No, not mine! I’m still the same old Loulou, but wait ’til you see this little darling and his aspirations to greatness.
Now, these guys (and a gal), below, don’t seem to have the same inclination to change their lives. Maybe because they all live together and are pretty happy with that. The other little guy seemed sort of alone until he found his true vacation…er…make that, vocation.
Now, for me, vacation is just fine. I do not have inclinations to becoming, say, the Metro Goldwyn Mayer representative or even that wannabe look-alike on the Purina kitty food packages. I am just fine BEING. Being snuggled, being fed, being nipped out, being ME. But I really do love it when an underdog, so to speak, steps into the limelight like that little donk.
Not my gig!
My gig is more like this:
HEY, mama, DINNERTIME!
*****
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Remember that when one builds a wall, he also imprisons those inside.
(A thank you to Ami Sands Brodoff in Montreal, Quebec)
We love your quote Loulou. We think you do you to purrfection!
Oh, thank you so much. I loved it too, and the lady’s letter to The New Yorker where I read it was very touching. It’s the issue of Dec 12 with shoppers on the cover and a giant tree inside a building. I’ll never forget that quote.
WELL, Loulou – the next time they do a casting call for the MGM CAT – you just follow that Budweisers donkey’s lead and show your stuff!!! these photos show you have it in you to roar onto the big screen!!
But then again, the life of an icon is so hard – all those rehersals and tv appearances. And the diet and exercise to stay trim – ? Naaah, maybe not. We have it pretty good since in OUR homes, we are the STARS!!!
Oh, Mya, you always set me on the straight and narrow. Dieting? Appearances in public with all those anthros? But wait a minute…do I get to meet George Clooney? Hmmmm…..
You’d make a great super star!
Problem with the autographs though, no opposable thumbs.
Have a wonderful weekend…
Noodle and crew
Oh, you are so right. Maybe hold the pen in the fangs?
You don’t need a makeover, you are perfect.
WEEELLLL….perfect? Oh, okay.
Yeah, our gig is pretty much the same as yours, Loulou. We always have food on our minds.
Hmmmm…wonder where we got that inclination?
The donkey down the road from me speaks the same language – you can tell when HE wants his breakfast !
Good reminder about “being.”
Oh, you have a donkey, too? Aren’t we lucky? But, alas, no donk in Rome. Only screeching seagull and even they are thinning out for winter. Maybe I could teach one to hee-haw, haha.
Thankfully no, the donkey is not mine, but he IS the neighborhood alarm clock. And yes, that is a very beautifu & thought provoking quote.
It was from a woman with a gay son about to go to college and a transgender daughter in her teens, and they are both fearful of the climate in the US. It was in the Dec 12 New Yorker and a lovely letter.
Oh, we enjoyed seeing that Clydesdale video again. So much so we watched a few more of the oldies. Great commercials! Hope mama fed you well.
Well, she did. And have you seen the commercial that won Best Commercial of the Year this year? I’ll send it. It may not be “publishable”in a blog, might offend.
