At least we have THESE to munch upon…with pecorino, but that’s all we have.
Hurrah and thank you to all the workers everywhere who have toiled and suffered and contributed so much to their countries.
And May Day has nothing to do with m’aider, (pronounced may-day), which means in French, HELP ME. Hence the mayday call for help anywhere, but especially on the sea.
Well, today I just want to show you some garden pics so that if spring is lurking somewhere near you (as it is NOT near us!) then nature takes everything in its own hands and blooms anyway, rain, hail or sleet.
Thank heaven we’ve not had the last two or all the flowers would be dead.
So here are some photos just to make you happy and give you the impression the spring just MIGHT appear, oh, around August or so…haha.
Sage flowering…at least we have BEES…and I don’t mess with those guys!
A very old rose that mama grew from a stick given her by her guru gardener neighbour. He has hundreds on his trellises and he named it Charlotte after his mother because they couldn’t find the real name. Do you know what this is?
Nasturtiums, called cappucine here in France and called all sorts of other names elsewhere; mama’s friend called them ‘nasties’ but only to shorten the name–she loved them.
The next to last of the lemons…there are still more.
Kiwis about to flower but no heat to help them!
Baby tomato plants pushing up through mulch (I love to scratch in it and help mama cultivate and fertilize, haha.
Opening Night, but there’s no play in this garden yet!
The garden is looking great. Ours is just beginning to come to life. Seems things are starting off much slower this year. Thanks for sharing your lovely flower pics. 🙂
Well, I’d love to see your garden. Does your ‘fertilizer’ help?
Fruit and vegetables to nourish the body and flowers to nourish the soul. Great combination.
Yes, we need the souls nourished but I’m sure Marcus and family do that for you.
