Well, a thoughtful Monday to everyone. Especially this date…9/11.
Yes, there are many big issues in our world, yes, the young are troubled, yes, some prices are higher, yes, gas costs more, but not as much as long ago, yes, the homeless numbers are growing, without low-cost shelter, yes, there is a new variant of covid, yes, poor nations suffer from autocratic, incredibly selfish leaders, and yes, there is much to ponder on this very significant day.
And yet, so many of these problems arose during the last four years of T, when the rich got richer and the needs of social services, education, infrastructure repair, lower medical costs and affordable housing were too often ignored by the GOP. Sometimes it’s hard to find any love for politics.
But all of us love this woman.
“If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.” ― Dolly Parton
Keeping this in mind, maybe, just maybe we can move forward, together. I wish bipartisan decidsions were a more common occurence among both parties.

But to cheer me up, my uncle Dan sent this hilarious book to mama and ME. We giggle every time we open it!
(By the way, the author is an avid bird-watcher and lover of birds.)
Oh I want it, I want it, I want it!
We will try to send one your way…
That Dolly Parton is a wise woman. We love her!
She is one of mamaa’s favorite gurus…when asked on a TV show, what is good taste, she said SEQUINS, sequins is good tasteC!!! Mama’s kind of woman.
We echo your thoughts on the world – and we also think that book must be a REAL WINNER – he cover alone is priceless!!
Hugs, Pam
It really is so, so funny. Mama laughed for hours after reading it.
I think that book would have us in stitches here, too!
Les always remember this awful day in history, and teach those who are too young to learn why we need to remember and honor this day and what it now stands for.
Oui, the young need to know so many things about major events. And 60 years since Martin Luther King….
That is a great spark. The book looks funny. 🙂 XO
YOU WOULD LOCE THIS BOOK!!! So funny. And written by a serious birdwatcher, just for fun.
Wow! We love Dolly Parton – and we found the companion volume “Dumb Birds of North America” on Amazon – even as a Kindle book !
The PBS Newshour just mentioned that 1100 sets of remains from the World Trade Center are yet to be identified. And the victims of the Moroccan earthquake may number even more. Prayers for all.
Oh, terrible. And the flood in Libya. Criminal.
ha ha! dee mum luvz dolly!!! dee mum will also say repeatedly dat deer iz too much stoopid going on owt deer in dee werld
Way too much, and so cruel to the survivors to suffer from their governments idiocy. Libya…..terrible.
What a hilarious book!
They need to write one for native plants too: sneezeweed, tickweed, rattlesnake master, spiderwort…I mean, c’mon!
More people would plant natives, if they didn’t have such stoopy names, in my opinion, Loulou.
HAHA that is so funny…LOVE sneezeweed and spiderwort. Sounds like Harry Potter lingo…
