Have you ever seen such a sweetie?
Actually, Lola is not a mutt, she is a real bloodhound and looks pretty pure to me, but I couldn’t think of another alliterative word! My fault.
Well, so she wrote me this nice letter after her grandanthros had spent some time with mama and papa (after THIRTY YEARS of separation) and I thought I would share it with you.
My dear Lou Lou At long last this darn iPhone email is working so I can finally send you this photo of me that I am rather pleased with I must admit. I feel like I am looking right into your beautiful eyes. Now that the Grandparentals ( wittily called so by a younger) have returned from their apparently fabulous trip to Italy I have a first hand account of you and your own parentals who must be quite extraordinary from all I’ve heard. And heard. Oh my how I wish I could ramble around that charming Rome dwelling with you. We would have such fun together. While I’m large, or so I am given to believe, I am also rather graceful and try to be considerate of smaller beings like your dainty furry self.
Oh yes! I almost forgot to mention I have some wonderful photos of you that I cherish. They make you so much more than an email pal and of course I read your blog all the time. Hey Lou Lou thanks for printing my last email. That was an enormous thrill for me and I feel so continental now and have developed a little European swagger I wish you could witness! It has been exhilarating connecting with you once more and I feel we are now besties! Extend my warm big dog regards to your mama and papa and a gentle hug to you my dear friend. Love, Lola
Well, that’s about it for my fan mail. Hey, one bloodhound counts for a lot, no? And I’ll bet Lola could help me find where mama has hidden my nip…hmmm.
Oh, boy, I just thought of something—are bloodhounds good truffle-hunters? We could start a little business here in Italy, haha.
Loulou and Lola’s Sniffing Service, ready to begin.
First job: Find out why there are five Santas below our window!
Lola could be your biggest fan…at least size-wise. 😉
Yeah, she is pretty…er…large. And bloodhounds are fairly big doggies. But Ellie the poodle is pretty big, too. Maybe THEY should be friends.
Oh my goodness here I am appearing once again on your very own website and I am so proud, humbled even, to be considered one of your close friends. I was especially tickled, and I do like that, by the suggestion we could have truffle sniffing business together! What a grand idea that is.
I shall write again soon my sweet friend.
love, Lola
Get your nose ready, Lola. We are going to tear up the woods!!!
Oh, how exciting! You have a handsome canine admirer and email buddy/relative.
Okay, we give up. Why are there 5 Santas beneath your window?
They just showed up with musical instruments and when papa leaned out the window they asked for some money and he didn’t have any to throw. But they come each year and I guess I have missed them. Normally they play bagpipes.
What a cute face ! Purrs
Aw, it’s just my normal mug.
