Hey, the bod’s warm, but I should cover my EARS!
Well, Noises Off was a play on Broadway, years ago, mama says, so I just ‘borrowed’ the title, haha. But it fits for what happens around here on Sundays. And out of necessity, I am comfortably ensconced in my poofy (duvet) to drown out the NOISE that seems to be part of every Sunday!
- The Roma soccer match, mama yelling, fans, etc. Bad news: Napoli 4, Roma 1.
- The Grand Prix…big old red and silver and even PINK cars running around and around the track and a hysterical announcer who must have had too much coffee today, haha. Varoooom, varooom, varooom, etc etc etc.
- Mama banging pots and pans around in the kitchen: making chocolate cookies, soupe de poisson for a small gathering tomorrow eve of neighbors and pizza for tonight. Whirrrrr, whirrrr, etc etc etc.
- A gazillion cheepers on the terrace peckin’ away at the crackers that mama puts out for them and cheep, cheep, cheeping the whole time. You’d think that mama would have the courtesy to know that I AM TRYING TO SNOOZE and STARVE those birdies!
- The wind–rattling our shutters and blowing everything in the garden all around including the watering cans! Bam, bam, bam…
So you get the picture, right. In order to THINK about the thoughts I need to pursue and for my peace of mind and body, I need SILENCE every now and then!
Oh, well, maybe on Easter Sunday there will be more respect around here for me and my deep thoughts…
Uh oh, do bunnies make a racket?
We’re not really big fans of any kind of loud noises here!
Funny how that runs in kitty families…
All those noises are the fun kind, except the wind. I don’t like the wind – it literally blows you off your feet here in Cape Town. Hmmm, and I can just imagine the delicious aromas coming out of your mama’s kitchen, LouLou.
Well, she does cook a lot, but when things start with onions and garlic, I’m not allowed! Still…a little white chicken meat is okay with me! Yes, the wind. Oh, my. 140kph sometimes.
Wow, Loulou, you and I and mama are on the same wavelength! Football and race car noise NOT our thing!! But today at the exposition hall – WORSE things to come!! There’s a big Steinway grand piano in the room and mama’s bringing music to play. OUCH – my ears hurt just imagining!!! Be VERY glad you’re not here. We would be howling a duet. I will be glad when this is over – except I do get lots of attention!!!
Hey, you mama and I could play a duet…not voices, but I know you’d chime in…er…howl in.
The rabbits around here are pretty quiet, LouLou. Plus right now there is a fresh 3 inches if heavy, wet snow on the ground.
Snow is so QUIET! I like that. Lucky you.
I like silence too 🙂
And mama does, actually, but the TV is close to her lab…er…kitchen.
It’s seldom quiet here. The tv, the computer, Jan talking to herself or yelling at one of us for something we didn’t do. (We are good furries!) But we don’t have the same noises you do. We especially like the ones of your mama baking chocolate cookies or making pizza. Mmmm, yummy.
Yes, the eating is pretty silent, haha. But I don’t get ANY of those…just a bit of mozzarella…and I chew very quietly.
LouLou it sounds like there are plenty of commotions of the noisy variety at your house. We have some of those like the GP and also the dreaded Va-Cuum. Lucky we can zip to the other side of the manor
Timmy and Family
Well the other side of the Manor sounds like a long way away in a manner of speaking! Good idea, just hightail it to other rooms. And I forgot to mention the Moto GP!
Yup, I believe bunnies are the worst noise makers with all the chewing they do; plus all the noise from the Easter eggs they bring—you know, the sound of cardboard and tinfoil wrapping etc 😉 MOL
You poor thing, Loulou, you need to come here and stay with me as we don’t do cars or bunnies or soccer(?). Still we do do pizza every now and then if a guest wants it……..
Purrs for a good and QUIET week 🙂
ERin
Well, Erin, I’m glad SOMEONE understands the noise thing. And those bunnies sound really disturbing…I think I need one of those isolation tanks, soundless and I, floating.
