(They are singing in English, thank heaven, or I’d be one lost kitty…)
Mama and papa are going to Jesus Christ Superstar with papa’s son’s family, and if I’m not mistaken, that’s a musical from about a gazillion years ago, right? The charming thing is that the original JC is going to be in it, Ted Neeley, and I have to say, he looks pretty good for 70-something. Now, for me, it’s a brand new show because I didn’t see the original, but mama has promised to show me some excerpts on UTube because I love the music (even if they put it on while ABANDONING ME to go somewhere fun that I can’t go!) and I’m been humming the songs all this week.
One of the little devil grandkids, Marghe, five years old, was questioning her mama about the story and asked if it would be okay if she actually sort of believed in the story of Christ, and of course, her parents said, Of course you can, you can believe in anything you like and then think about it for awhile,” and the little creature said, “Mamma, I think I know why those people were so mean to Christ—they were jealous because he could walk on water and they couldn’t.”
Out of the mouths of babes, no? They are pretty cute, those kids, but of course no little two-legged anthro is half as cute as a KITTY!
So I guess I’d better brush up on my songs. I’m garggling with warm water and doing my scales and maybe if they need an understudy, I’ll be waiting…
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah ah–Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee, ee…..etc.
I think Mary Magdalene’s role is about right for me.
A STAR is BORN!!
Nice jazz paws Loulou!
Yes, Loulou, you are going to be a STAR! Will you be giving pawtographs?
