Mama, you did WHAT again?
Well, mama and papa went out with some friends to have dinner on this gloriously warm, summery night here in Roma, and I, naturally, being saner than they, stayed home to nibble kibble and watch TV–they put on the cartoons and I climbed on the couch and was happy as a kitty-with-no-garden-and-none-of-my-familiar-thingies-next-to-me could BE.
But what does mama do on her nice stroll home down what is called the Corso, where everyone is out strolling in the Indian summer weather, but fall down and scrape her knee RIGHT AFTER she let go of papa’s arm.
DUH. Mama, that thing on the side of the street is called a CURB. Okay? Step UP before proceeding.
Everyone KNOWS you have to hold onto something when you stroll after dinner, preferably PAPA! But seriously, folks, mama HAS to stop doing this. I think she said to me that this was No. 3 for the year!!!
Mama, get some of those socks with suction cups on the bottom, like frog feet, and STICK YOURSELF TO THE STREET next time, okay?
Me, I’m sticking to the bedy-bie — can’t fall far from here!
I’m tucked in, just in case…
As the old saying goes, “You can’t roll off the floor.”
I was taking the beagle to the vet the other day when I stumbled over a tree root and fell on my right arm. The arm is fine – not even sore – but my ribs are sore. So Mama should definitely hang on to Papa ! It was lucky I didn’t fall on the beagle and squash her !
Hey, beagles are so soft and nice…maybe the best to fall on! Except maybe me after eating.
Awww, we are sorry mom fell and hurt herself again. My mamma seems to fall a lot too! She broke her wrist a year ago after misjudging some dark steps at her brothers house and had to have surgery on her left wrist. Boy, did she go flying off that step!
A couple of weeks ago she fell up the cement steps to our front porch and bruised her left shin and knee and they are still bruised. Again it was very dark. She is too short to activate the normal motion sensor on the porch light. I know we need one before the steps begin!
Our mamas seem to be having problems with depth perception and not as good eyes as when they were younger. We need to try to help them know their capabilities and teach them to mark those steps/curbs with bright white paint so the don’t misjudge the step – up or down!
Oh Patsy we are listening to you attentively! Mostly mama needs to SLOW down…she walks like a crazed weasel, haha, or as if in a race against pedestrians.
Well, mama’s recipe for not falling down in public is to limit her Spritzes to one. Maybe two. Maybe one Spritz and a glass of wine…..I just tell her to hang on to my stroller and that seems to keep her from falling down in the street. Well, hopefully no damage done and no one was filming for their facebook page……
OH, NO, mama on FACEBOOK? She understands Facebook but she is NOT a user… and she’s fine, thank you. A little tiny skinned knee, like a kid, haha.
I hope your mama is OK.
Mama is FINE but she feels sort of dumb about the whole thing. Sort of like kitties when they miss the jump…
Oh LouLou, we’re so sorry your mommy fell. Mommy has that same purroblem. She must fall 4 or 5 times a day. We’re sendin’ hugs and purrayers.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
No, really? Oh, I hope you two put yourselves somewhere nearby to break the falls! How terrible. This was just a little one, but not good, nonetheless.
Oh, your poor mama. Your papa has got to buy her some of those suction cup socks. And knee pads (without suction cups).
HAHA KNEE PADS!!! Hey, then she could ROLLER SKATE! Now that would be fun!
