OUT SPOKE-N? BIKE BUSINESS?
I was exhausted just watching those bikes.
And well, I’ll report on the Giro d’Italia, but I actually had other plans…
Still, the perseverance of those riders is my spark for today.
To get to the finish line, just keep pedaling, against all odds.
Papa suggested to mama that they walk only two streets from where they stay to watch the Giro d’Italia whiz by, and boy, did it whiz, papa said!
Mama took some stills and papa did a video but they have to upload it so you might see it tomorrow.
The drone shots on TV of Rome and the bikes racing were truly spectacular. Mama said that to see the Roman monuments from a bird’s eye view was incredibly moving…what brilliant builders were those Romans, and the monuments, so BIG.
Mama always tries to figure out how many might have been able to take a dip in the Baths of Caracalla.
She found that “the Baths of Caracalla covered 27 acres and could accommodate 1,600 people at a time, so you would have had plenty of company.”
WOW, that was one clean group of anthros!
Imagine that number of kitties taking their baths there all together, haha!
And this little critter near mama and papa’s street perches on the corner of Berlusconi’s ex-apartment building in the via della gatta – street of the cat, aptly named, no, for where that guy hung out?
But mama says its a lovely kitty and its story is very moving.
Pretty active day around there, right?
I am SO glad I’m on my patio, sacked out…
Ah, I love Rome! I’m jealous of your Mom. What a lovely story about that cat, thanks for including it.
Well, mama wishes everyone could be in Rome with her (and papa, of course) as she loves it that so many bloggers love her beloved Roma. Mama has notes on Rome whenever anyone gets a chance to go….
Rome is definitely an interesting place!
Oh, oui, it is really lovely and so full of history.
Glad your Mama and Papa got to see some of the bike race….The Street of the Cat – what a NICE NAME that is! We read in the article that that cat statue came from ancient Egypt’s Temple of Isis – WOW. You do look quite comfy enjoying a sun nap to wile away the time until your parents finally return!
Hugs, Teddy
Well, the street of the cat for Berlusconi was pretty funny, since he catted around with…er…young chickies all the time. Everyone laughs at his street name…I think chat in French is also…er… suggestive in one sense. But what do I know…I’m just a kitty.
Oh, now that was an intriguing cat story! Amazing!
Oui, it’s goood to let doggies know about our history, too, haha.
I am thankful to all who served too. Thank you for the link to the kitty story. I will check it out. XO
You never have to look at links, but I am putting in one today that I feel should be read by any and all. Love this lady, Heather.
What a great kitty story from Roma…and we are glad to see you relaxing after the bicycle races..
Yes, they wore me out! My back paws are really tired…
We will always remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
Fascinating story about the Roman cat; had not read it before.
So much lore and history in Rome, mama says. Takes all day to research even one or two places.
