Does this mean I have to learn Tosca? Oy, vay…
Well, Mya’s maman and papa sent us the most amazing videos of lovely parrots who have…er…found their voices, so to speak, haha. Love this opera singer.
Another (there are so many on YouTube) is the most articulate feathered friend we have ever heard, thanks to his family who encourages him to talk. Just delightful.
The other interesting chatterer is courtesy of the Knoxville Zoo.
Our question is, how do you train a parrot or cockatoo or any bird to speak so well?
Papa once stopped in restaurant and mama and her stepdaughter went into the ladies room (whatever that is) and papa waited down the hall next to the cage of a Myna bird. He said “Hello Nicole” about three timees and then mama and Nicole came out to join him.
As they passed the Myna, it said “Hello, Nicole” and Nicole almost fainted! So clearly they are fast on the mimic!
Love these birds! Probably why we get along so well in the garden, haha.
I keep waiting for them to say “Hi, Loulou, here’s your kibble”.
Hey, you guys, let’s get DOWN! How about Rockin’ Robin?
When my mom was a young girl her uncle gave her his parakeet named YoYo. He had taught the birdie to speak some words by repeating them over and over again.
I hate to say this but birds like that are SO smart. Just be careful what you say, haha.
We are going to stick with the Trout Towne Tabbies on this NO BOIDS!
Hey, great idea. NO BOIDS!
Loulou, did you know my dad has a parrot? It’s an African Grey parrot and her name is Scarlett. She stays at my dad’s store so she can entertain the customers. She talks up a storm! ~Ernie
OH, please record her as we would LOVE to hear her chatter.
Awww thanks for sharing those clever parrots, Loulou. They’re too cute.
Well, there must be a fair amount in SA, no?
Like Mamma’s little parakeet – he knew all their names – he would pull my dad’s hair and say “Quit Leo that hurts” – and laugh”! BUT the strangest thing was when he said “Don’t Shoot”! Guess he picked that one up from one of the westerns on TV!
Oh, love that. Glad you weren’t watching xrated shows, haha.
I will check them out. 🙂
They are so talented.
Some people say birds only mimic but plenty of bird owners testify that the birds often say exactly the right (or wrong !) thing at the right (or wrong !) time !
I just love this. So much info on these amazing talkers.
Our Dad’s Mom used to have a myna bird, it would carry on quite a conversation, with sound effects.
Well, mynas are really talented!
Loulou, the only birds around here are the ones that Da Boyz watch through the window, with their tailios whipping back and forth.
Maybe a parrot would reason with them, haha.
Birds are amazing – they learn easily and really seem to love “playing” with song, words, and of course humans! The videos were FABULOUS!
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, we LOVE these cheepers/singers/warblers so much!
